A tour the force through Hanzi Freinacht's metamodern political theory. Highly recommended! Emil is an entertaining and talented teacher. I greatly enjoyed this course (even though most of the material was repetition, as I have read the books). I also really liked the hangout sessions with more interactive and participant driven discussions. Those were really helpful for me to understand some aspects of the theory better. I also liked the selection of "homework" readings. Especially the unpublished book project, which provided a number of new angles on the work.

Great course! I was familiar with the work of Hanzi before the course, joined mostly to get in touch with the community -- which worked really well as there were breakout room sessions after each "class"! Also I didn't get bored at all throughout the course, even when the basics were presented. Rather, the course solidified my knowledge and provided great new impulses and inspiration. I highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to dive deeper in the metamodern thoughts and meet fellow metamodernists.

This course was beautifully immersive and informative, Emil was able to stay connected to the course content and the book discussions while also allowing the space for new creative collaborations among the participants. It was so helpful to have this community container of fellow metamodernists to discuss ideas and process information with, and I was able to gain a deeper understanding of what metamodernism is while opening my perspective to new avenues in which I can put this knowledge to practice. Really looking forward to the prospects of this developing community and I'm excited to be a part of it!

So great to meet Emil and tap into his thinking, and to meet and hang with other people of a similar mindset?

Outstanding course that was both a well presented review of existing Hanzi books as well as a preview of future books. The advantages of a small class size allowed for discussion and interaction of sharing ideas and asking questions directly of Emil. Strengths of the course include the idea that the metamodern vMeme is still being written at that class participants are given the opportunity to act as co-creators of new ways of looking at the world and society. This is done with the safe distance of metamodernism never taking itself too seriously. Suggestions for future classes could be to have co-creation activities from which the class could choose from to practice collective intelligence or metamodern small group organization. Our class did attempt to do this at times with a brainstorming session, for example. The more spontaneous these activities, the better, so may be it's just a matter of making space for them to happen. Thanks for this impactful experience!
