Spring Foraging Walks

Come and discover your local edible and medicinal wild plants! 

A sensory introduction to common plants, how to recognise them, their medicinal properties, and some recipe ideas. We will share knowledge, identification tips, and folklore.

We'll also cover important things to consider while foraging, both for ourselves and the environment around us.

We won't be harvesting plants, as the canal isn't a great place to do so, but it is a very abundant ecosystem filled with a great variety of plants. You'll leave having learnt about a bunch of common plants that you can easily find elsewhere (likely in your garden!), feeling confident in how to identify them, and what to do once you've picked them.

We will be meeting at Stroud Brewery, in the beer garden, and will end at the brewery.

These walks are standalone, so you can book on to one, two, or all of them. We will be meeting some of the same plants, and some new plants in each walk as the season unfurls.

Children are welcome alongside their parents, and are welcome to join at no extra cost.

About me:

 I've been training in herbalism for 7 years now, and am currently completing my studies in Insight Herbalism. I  enjoy introducing people to plants through their senses and intuition first, encouraging curiosity and creativity, before delving into traditional knowledge. I love the way that foraging connects me to the land around me, the seasons, and to my place in this world.
