Tuesday Taster is a 90-minute Soul Motion class.
This drop-in session is part of the Devon School of Soul Motion Level 2 Facilitator Training where you will be part of a learning experience for the current training cohort, dancing with a group that has been journeying deeply in this movement modality for over a year. Everyone is welcome!
Together we will explore foundational principles of Soul Motion, a practice that welcomes the mystery of improvised dance.
What kind of movement & dance practice is Soul Motion?
Soul Motion is a dynamic fusion of somatic exploration and the playful spontaneity of improvised dance. While music often accompanies our journey, we attune to our inner rhythms, embracing both movement and the potency of pause. This practice invites everything from deep, meditative inquiry to wild, expansive expression — offering a space where stillness and motion coexist in a rich, ever-unfolding dance.
The session counts as pre-req foundational hours towards the Devon School of Soul Motion Training.
Cost: £14.50

Trauma Sensitivity & Personal Responsibility
In this improvising workshop, we strive to create a space that is as safe and supportive as possible. Our approach is trauma-sensitive, meaning we encourage awareness, choice, and self-agency in movement and expression. However, given the improvisational nature of this work, we acknowledge that we cannot predict or eliminate all potential triggers.
We invite participants to take care of their own well-being by listening to their bodies, pacing their engagement, and stepping out or seeking support if needed. Facilitators are available for check-ins, and we encourage open communication to help navigate any challenges that arise.
Please assess before proceeding to buy your ticket, whether you feel emotionally resourced enough to engage with this practice at this time. If you are currently experiencing significant distress or instability, you may wish to consider whether this is the right moment for you to take part.
Parking: Nearest parking is paying in the Dartington Car Parks. Free parking for members.
We'll send an email with directions before the event.
