Celestial Gong Bath (Round Chapel) A Journey of Sound, Energy & Spirit – with Kat Bumbul of Sound Mysterium and Xuan Daoji

Step into a transformative evening where the art of sound healing meets the mysticism of Daoist energy transmutation.

Celestial Gong Bath is a sister event of Psychedelic Gong Bath, facilitated by an experienced sound artist and healer, Kat Bumbul of Sound Mysterium, in a special collaboration with Xuan Daoji, an ordained Daoist priest and practitioner of the ancient art of Dao Yin Shu, who will work in harmony with the vibrational energies of the sound bath. Celestial Gong Bath slightly differs from Psychedelic Gong Bath in a way that you might experience spontaneous body movements. For this reason participants will be encouraged to keep bigger spaces between each other. You can choose to lie down or sit up. It is also fine to experience this gong bath standing (slightly moving).

As you settle into the serene ambience of an old church, Kat will play gongs, singing bowls and other ritual instruments to envelope you with the resonant sounds, vibrations and energy that promote states of gentle to deep meditation. At the same time Xuan will be discretely and silently walking around the church space to guide the subtle energies within you (silent energy work, no physical touch involved), enhancing the healing potential of the sound experience.

Kat’s sound work is often described as of another level, artfully weaving elements of subtle aesthetics, mystery and healing, which is much more than just a relaxation.

Xuan’s guidance is known to bring about unique energetic phenomena, such as spontaneous body movements, cathartic expressions of healing activation, as well as feelings of deep peace, emotional stability and a sense of love.

Together, the harmonious blend of sound and energy healing will create a field of transformation where physical sensations meet spiritual insights, guiding you toward inner harmony and renewal. This event is about awakening to a higher state of being, where sound and energy converge to elevate your consciousness into profound personal experiences of the higher-self.

Participants have described these sessions as being 'bathed' or carried away into space, experiencing a range of powerful bodily sensations, from subtle tingling to intense waves of energy flowing through the body. Some have reported spontaneous movements, such as the sensation of energy guiding their limbs or spine in flowing, self-directed motions. Others have witnessed visions of vibrant colours, deep lights, or even images of celestial realms, enhancing their meditative journey. The vibrations not only shift your brainwaves into self-healing states that balance both body and mind but also facilitate the release of deep-seated emotional blockages. Some participants have found themselves revisiting and resolving past traumas, while others have experienced profound releases of tension, leaving them with a sense of peace and clarity.

Tea with blue lotus will be served before and after the gong bath to enhance your meditation experience. Ceremonial cacao chocolates will also be available for a small donation (bring some cash please).

To get the best out of the experience:

- KEEP YOURSELF WARM & COMFY. The venue is an old church, so please bring warm blankets + mat or mattress to settle on. Wear thick socks and warm, comfortable clothes.

- You can do this either LYING DOWN, SITTING UP or STANDING—letting the flow of the energy guide you into a position that comfortably facilitates your experience. It is not unusual to experience movement of the limbs, so please allow at least an arms length from other participants for comfort.

- We encourage you to STAY LUCID and AWAKE. It is OK to keep your eyes closed, if you wish to. You can also wear an eye mask if lying down.

- COME EARLY, try not to arrive in the last minute. Take time to settle into the space. Enjoy blue lotus tea. Get smudged. You can opt for ceremonial cacao chocolates letting them slowly dissolve in your mouth. Give yourself time to SLOW DOWN before the sound session begins.

Prepare to be immersed in a transformative journey where the energies of sound and the guidance of subtle energy come together, leading you into the celestial embrace of the Dao; leaving you renewed, balanced, and aligned with your highest self.

~ Doors open from 7pm. Please take your shoes off before entering the hall, and place your mats in tidy concentric circles around the centre.
~ Switch off your mobiles and use the toilets before the sound session begins.
~ We close the door strictly at 7.30pm. Arrive early to settle in. Gong sound bath
lasts about 1hr30min.
~ The tea is served before and after the session. Optional ceremonial cocoa
chocolates available for a suggested donation of £2-£3.
~ Don't come if you have symptoms of cold, sneezing or coughing.

Kat Bumbul of Sound Mysterium has been offering gong baths in London for 15 years, along with tea ceremonies, retreats, tuition in sound healing, and private gong, singing bowls, and shamanic sessions. As a practitioner of Siberian shamanism, Kashmiri Shaiva tantra, and Dao Yin Shu, Kat incorporates her gifts and skills from these practices into the sound work to bring a healing experience to a deeper level, transforming sound bath sessions into shamanic ceremonies.
