Hi there,
As the sun sets on Bicycle Day (the anniversary of chemist Albert Hofmann's serendipitous discovery of LSD), psychedelic researchers and practitioners from all over the world will begin to gather for the sixth iteration of Breaking Convention, which will take place on 20-22 April 2023 at the University of Exeter.
Now in its 12th year, we are so excited to be partnering with Breaking Convention - one of Europe's oldest and largest psychedelic research conferences and a precious place to gather as a community.
Attendees this year can expect to meet over 200 presenters from the forefront of different disciplines; exciting emerging postgraduate students, leading lights of the research world, philosophers, celebrity chemists, clinicians, therapists, historians, legal professionals, business people, musicians, cultural practitioners and theorists, artists, keen enthusiasts and harm reduction advocates.
Headline speakers at BC23 include mycologist Paul Stamets, MAPS founder Rick Doblin, psychologist Carl Hart, Beckley Foundation founder Amanda Feilding, neurobiologist and chemist William Leonard Pickard, ibogaine researcher Deborah Mash and ethnobotanist Jonathan Ott.

STOP BY OUR TABLE: If you're curious to meet the team, learn more about our work in harm reduction, have questions about the Psychedelic Society members community, or just fancy a chat, be sure to come find us at The Psychedelic Society sponsor table between sessions.
PSYCHEDELIC STORYTELLING SESSION: Lauren and Carly from the team will also be hosting a fun, open-mic style session where the audience is invited to share their most profound, life-changing, hilarious, or generally memorable trips. We've been running these open mics as socials with our London members and are always so touched by the breadth and wisdom of the stories shared. We can't wait to hear more from the wider community!
