Hello there,

It's Faye here,

Imbolc Greetings

Have you noticed the subtle shift of light and the beginning of buds on trees?

This week, we mark the transition from the sleepy darkness of winter into the early stirrings of spring. At True Nature, we find that intentionally aligning with the rhythms of the natural world and marking the Wheel of the Year Celebrations helps us to connect more closely to our own natural rhythms.

‘The Imbolc festival celebrates the reawakening of Earth and the potential of manifestations inherent at this time. Here it is important that we remember and listen to our intuitive selves, the inner wisdom we have gained during the winter months. It is in this union, which is the power and magical alchemy of Imbolc, and helps bring new growth into our lives.’

5 Ideas of how to celebrate

Spend time outside

Intentionally take note of the emergence of the life force around you. Sap is beginning to rise and the bulbs are starting to push through the Earth. Everywhere there are signs of the Earth stirring. Talk to a tree or pick some green foliage to bring inside your home.

Plant Seeds of Desires

Think about the seeds of your future that you wish to germinate and see grow. Either find some real seeds and plant them or write them on slips of paper that can be rolled up to represent your new beginnings and plant them into the ground.

Make fresh ginger tea

Ginger is good for this time of year as it will help to revitalise and stimulate the fire within us.

Bring 50g of ginger root, the thinly peeled rind of lemon and half a litre of water to the boil and gently simmer for 30 mins or so. Strain and when cold keep in the fridge. Add 1 tbsp of this liquid to a cup of hot water and sweeten with honey.

Light candles

Candles are used at this time to represent the return of the light as the Sun's energy begins to increase. You could even symbolically clear away the dross and dormancy of winter by wiring words on paper and giving them to the flames to transform.

Write down your night dreams

Imbolc is still the time to dream and not yet the season for massive action. Before you go to sleep place a journal by your bed and ask for truths from your subconscious to emerge in a dream that you will remember. As soon as you wake up write it down. Even if it doesn't seem significant at the moment, you may start to see a pattern of truth emerge.
