Hi there,
I recently attended a meditation retreat with nondual teacher Angelo Dilulo. (You can see my interview with him here). He describes his experience of awakening in frank terms, and is adamant that its a shift that can happen to anyone.
So I was interested to hear him admit that he can catch himself doomscrolling, or using screens in ways that aren't healthy.
Turns out, the mechanisms used to hook us to an algorithm work deep in the subconscious, and even awakening is no match. Some of the smartest people in the world are using some of the most sophisticated technology to hack our attention, and I would say, our life-force!
But there are ways to fight back.
One of them is this highly recommended course ‘A Farewell to Screen Addictions’.
Gentle and transformative tools to take back your time and your life, that has so far helped hundreds of people.
Not eliminate screens altogether, but have them serve you instead of you serving them. It covers the neuroscience about how to beat the addictive nature of screens, how to rebuild attention spans, and perhaps most important, a shared goal of creating beautiful, healthy habits.
If you decide to join, I would love to hear about your journey…
Happy Saturday!
With love,
Amir
