EDB combines the worlds of Ecstatic Dance, diverse dance music and sound system culture with prayer, mindfulness and ritual.
Using the practice of Ecstatic Dance we create a held space for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound.
The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, movement and sound serve as mediums for transformation, liberation and soul invigorating celebration.
Our community gatherings are sober and suitable for all ages, abilities and people.
Come as you are. Dance as you please. Be your uniqueness.
Dani Tonks | Ceremony Leader / Facilitator
Dani Tonks is a somatic coach, creative consultant and artist for embodied self expression, body positivity and nervous system resilience. With 12+ years of experience with creatively leading groups in somatic and embodiment work, she has developed a playful and sensitive approach, combining a range of disciplines including contemporary dance, focusing, somatic movement, Alexander Technique, ritual, meditation and clowning.
Dani found herself in the world of the healing arts and somatic work from her background in professional acting and dance. She left school at 16 and attended a contemporary performing arts college which opened a world where she started to feel understood. Dani struggled with body confidence, stage fright and remembering lines in front of an audience. Despite these fears, she felt at home in the rehearsal space and over the years began to learn the healing power of being vulnerable and experimented through the art of play whilst being in a held and supportive environment.
This inspired her to create Wild Play Lab in 2018 in collaboration with The Psychedelic Society and BootStrap Charity. Wild Play Lab is a therapeutic human experiment for adults to play for play’s sake.

Field of Lights | Ecstatic Dance DJ
Field of Lights aka Hugh Cresswell is a producer and DJ who has been studying the art and magic of rhythm for over 15 years. His sets are a sonic blend of his multifaceted and never-ending love for music. His passion for creating the right atmosphere and journey on the dance floor is both intuitive and carefully considered. Hugh found his love for music at an early age, choosing voice and drum kit as his outlets for expression. Performing with various bands and choirs throughout his teen and early adult years, he learned to appreciate chamber and ensemble music in many different contexts before falling in love with electronic music.
He has since written electronic compositions for various collaborations in performance art, theatre and his own live performances under the moniker Field of Lights. From deep house and melodic techno to traditional and world music and all the flavours in between, Hugh feels an innate desire to share the music he loves. DJing is a natural vehicle for this desire, and it is one of the seats he is most happy to sit in.
