EDB unites the worlds of Ecstatic Dance, diverse dance music and sound system culture. Using the practice of Ecstatic Dance we create held spaces for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound.

The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, movement and sound serve as mediums for transformation, liberation and soul invigorating celebration. Our community gatherings are alcohol-free and are suitable for all ages, all abilities and all people. Everyone is welcome.

OSARA is a father, DJ and founder of Ecstatic Dance Bristol, pushing the boundaries and edges of the Ecstatic Dance scene here in the UK. He creates deep, powerful and transformative dance journeys, which respond to the spirit of time, community and place. DOMINIQUE ANTONINA's work focusses on self love, self expression and shadow work integration. Over the last five years she has held space and led large workshops to integrate, embody and celebrate nature connection, self inquiry and healing. She has been an avid Ecstatic Dancer since dancing her socks off at the famous Ecstatic Dances in Oakland and Nevada City in 2017.

As an organised outdoor physical activity, our events are fully compliant with the latest government regulations and we have full permission from Bristol City Council and Avon & Somerset Police to run our Ecstatic Dance sessions on The Downs.

ECSTATIC DANCE GUIDELINES

Ecstatic Dance is self-expression through free-form dance and movement. It’s an embodiment practice which brings awareness to and connects together heart, mind, body and soul; authentically connecting with your whole self and authentically connecting with others.

Our events are family friendly. All people and all abilities are welcome. 

We use the following guidelines to create a safe and held space for you to express the full spectrum of yourself, to express your uniqueness and to experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound:

- be here: no shoes
- be free: dance how you want / no judgement
- be present: no phones / cameras
- be clear: no intoxicants
- be embodied: no talking
- be consensual: respect boundaries / be aware of your own personal space and that of others

This scheme allows people who are financially comfortable, to pay towards the ticket of a dancer who is not so financially abundant.
