MDMA is now widely recognized as a medicine that can lead to breakthroughs in the treatment of trauma, couples therapy, and spiritual openings if taken in a therapeutic context. Jonathan Robinson is a psychotherapist that did his Master’s thesis on the use of MDMA (often known as XTC) for the treatment of PTSD. He has worked for over 40 years with groups, individual clients, and couples in helping them overcome lifelong challenges with the aid of this sacred medicine. When using MDMA with clients with PTSD symptoms, Jonathan has had a success rate of over 93%, and when working with couples, he has found that a single five-hour MDMA session could consistently transform almost any relationship.

In this course he will share how he has worked with people using this medicine, along with his precise protocol for what he feels has led to the best outcomes.

Set, Setting & Integration

The preparation, set, setting and integration are integral parts of healing with MDMA, and as part of the course you will also learn:

• How to create a sacred “space” for others, even when working on zoom.
• How to use music, guided meditations, and powerful presence to gently guide yourself or others to breakthrough outcomes.
• How to make sure you or a client are able to stay motivated over a period of time to better integrate important behavioral changes.
• The most common issues that arise in couples therapy, and how to effectively deal with them.
• How to help people gently “come down” off this drug, and how to avoid unpleasant side effects the day after a journey.

Because so much information will be covered during these 8 weekly sessions, the above is only a partial list. There will be plenty of time for Q&A some experiential work in a group, and the opportunity to practice certain therapeutic skills with other participants. When you leave this course, you will have all the information you need to know to get the best outcomes for yourself or people you may be helping with this sacred medicine.

Course Application Requirements

The most important requirement for this course is a sincere desire to help others.

There are no prerequisite trainings required, but some experience working with people will be helpful. 

Applicants need to demonstrate their capacity to self-reflect on their practise, including the unique practical and ethical issues that arise when working with altered states.  Before applying, please read this Code of Conduct for MDMA Guides. 

In your application please take the time to indicate that you have read and understood this code, and are able to reflect on the importance of some of its details. 

Additionally, course applicants need to provide a reference from someone who can confirm their suitability to engage in this work, along with their phone number. 

It's recommended to dedicate 4-5 hours a week on studying and practising course material, and be available for the live sessions:

This course is a mixture of recorded material, 5 live sessions with Jonathan, and multiple practise assignment with other participants. The instructional element of live calls will be recorded. The live sessions may include practise, sharing and confidential Q&As which won't be recorded, so to get the most out of the course, its' best to attend live.
