Uniting the worlds of free-form movement, diverse dance music and sound system culture, we create safe, held and sacred spaces for you to express your uniqueness, to come to balance with the full spectrum of yourself, and to rejuvenate and empower yourself, through movement, dance and sound.

The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, movement and sound serve as mediums for transformation, liberation and soul invigorating celebration. These sessions are sober and are suitable for all ages, all abilities and all people. Everyone is welcome. 

This is our prayer. Our practice. Our dance. Our ritual.

PHOËNIX | DJ Set, Facilitated Embodiment Journey & Live Sound Bath

DJ, musician and facilitator, PHOËNIX has been involved in music, dance and sound all her life. A mystical magickal weaver of the sacred, silly and sexy as one, she channels love to express itself in truth and through all colours. Devotion and returning to heart is at the centre of everything she does. 

Phoënix invokes rebirth, from ashes to flame, through the fusion of Balkan, deep sultry House, Tribal Afro beats, freaky booty-shaking Bass and everything inbetween. With guided embodiment, a prayerful invocation, live vocals and an acoustic Sound Bath to close, she is super excited to create a powerful and fun container for the EDB community.

We have been working with the Bristol legends, AMBER AUDIO, ever since we first launched EDB in February 2019. They provide the highest quality audio equipment and sound design using one of the top manufacturers in the industry, d&b audiotechnik, for the likes of Glastonbury, Boomtown, Love Saves The Day, Strange Brew, to name a few.

There is free parking on site.

WHAT TO BRING

- your own water bottle
- dress in layers
- ear plugs if you need them - the sound system can get loud at times
- something to lie down on for the Sound Bath (blanket, yoga mat or similar)
- anything else you need

ECSTATIC DANCE GUIDELINES

Ecstatic Dance is self-expression through free-form dance and movement. It’s an embodiment practice which brings awareness to and connects together heart, mind, body and soul; authentically connecting with your whole self and authentically connecting with others.

Our events are family friendly. All people and all abilities are welcome. 

We use the following guidelines to create a safe and held space for you to express the full spectrum of yourself, to express your uniqueness and to experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound:

- be here: no shoes
- be free: dance how you want / no judgement
- be present: no phones / cameras
- be clear: no drugs or alcohol
- be embodied: no talking
- be consensual: respect personal space & boundaries of self & others

£17 Pay-it-Forward (+50p bf)

This scheme allows people who are financially comfortable, to pay towards the ticket of a dancer who is not so financially abundant.

£12 Concession (+50p bf)

Limited tickets part funded by our 'Pay-It-Forward' scheme. Please only choose this ticket type if you really need it.

£17.50 On The Door (cash or card)

Teens £4.50 (+50p bf) / £5 On The Door

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult

PLEASE NOTE

If you've purchased a ticket, the transaction has gone through and you haven't received a confirmation email, then please email OSARA. Alternatively, you can simply turn up and give your name on the door as we have the list of everyone who has bought a ticket.

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS

We don't offer refunds, so you can either sell your ticket via the BRISTOL MUSIC, DANCE & SOUND community group on Signal (please email OSARA for the link) OR using and sharing the link on our Facebook event page OR you can transfer your ticket to a future event if you notify us up to 48 hours before the event

As a participant at our sessions, please take responsibility for yourself, your belongings and your wellbeing.

You are invited to show up as you are and move whatever is alive within you. The full spectrum of yourself. It’s all welcome on the dance floor.
