EDB unites the worlds of Ecstatic Dance, diverse dance music and sound system culture. Using the practice of Ecstatic Dance we create held spaces for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound.

The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, movement and sound serve as mediums for transformation, liberation and soul invigorating celebration. Our community gatherings are alcohol-free and are suitable for all ages, all abilities and all people. Everyone is welcome.

SUNDAY SESSIONS

This Sunday 10 Oct may be our last EDB Open Air dance for 2021. As the weather gets colder and wetter, we have decided that it’s time to take our Sunday sessions indoors. We will trail run an Open Air session at a later date and potentially run monthly Open Air sessions if there's enough interest. Watch this space…

SOPHIE BOLTON holds amazing nature dances in parks and woodlands in the South West and is a resident DJ for the pioneering Ecstatic Dance UK. She brings dance to its natural roots, using beautiful outdoor spaces, exquisite live DJ’d sound journeys and tender, deep-hearted vocal guidance to facilitate a uniquely elemental conscious dance experience. Mixing sublime sounds from across the genres and exquisite guided elemental journeys from the heart, she facilitates joyful connection between spirit, body and earth.

‘SILENT DISCO’ HEADSET DANCE

Journey through this realm and experience the magic. Dance in and out of the journey as you please - completely immersing yourself in the Ecstatic Dance and then enjoying moments of quiet in nature when needed. A truly unique experience.

As an organised outdoor physical activity, our events are fully compliant with the latest government regulations and we have full permission from Bristol City Council and Avon & Somerset Police to run our Ecstatic Dance sessions on The Downs.

We ask all attendees to take responsibility for themselves; and to be sensitive, considerate and respectful of others.

Please do not attend this event if you are feeling ill or unwell. Take care, rest and be well.

ECSTATIC DANCE GUIDELINES

Ecstatic Dance is self-expression through free-form dance and movement. It’s an embodiment practice which brings awareness to and connects together heart, mind, body and soul; authentically connecting with your whole self and authentically connecting with others.

Our events are family friendly. All people and all abilities are welcome. 

We use the following guidelines to create a safe and held space for you to express the full spectrum of yourself, to express your uniqueness and to experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound:

- be here: no shoes
- be free: dance how you want / no judgement
- be present: no phones / cameras
- be clear: no drugs or alcohol
- be embodied: no talking
- be consensual: respect personal space & boundaries of self & others

£17 Pay-it-Forward (+50p bf)

This scheme allows people who are financially comfortable, to pay towards the ticket of a dancer who is not so financially abundant.

£12 Concession (+50p bf)

Limited tickets part funded by our 'Pay-It-Forward' scheme. Please only choose this ticket type if you really need it.

£18 Upon Arrival (cash or card)

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult 

PLEASE NOTE

If you've purchased a ticket, the transaction has gone through and you haven't received a confirmation email, then please email OSARA. Alternatively, you can simply turn up and give your name on the door as we have the list of everyone who has bought a ticket.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

- we don't offer refunds, so you can either sell your ticket via the BRISTOL MUSIC, DANCE & SOUND community group on Signal (please email OSARA for the link) OR using ticketswap.uk and sharing the link on our Facebook event page using ticketswap.uk OR you can transfer your ticket to a future event if you notify us up to 48 hours before the event 

- in case of heavy rain or unfavourable weather, the event will be cancelled and your ticket will be transferable to a future date of your choice

As a participant at our sessions, please take responsibility for yourself, your belongings and your wellbeing.

You are invited to show up as you are and move whatever is alive within you. The full spectrum of yourself. It’s all welcome on the dance floor.
