EDB unites the worlds of Ecstatic Dance, diverse dance music and sound system culture. Using the practice of Ecstatic Dance we create held spaces for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound.

The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, movement and sound serve as mediums for transformation, liberation and soul invigorating celebration. Our community gatherings are alcohol-free and are suitable for all ages, all abilities and all people. Everyone is welcome.

The one and only Pixi Pete returns! DJ, percussionist, facilitator and all round beautiful being. As he puts it, “DJing is my Passion and Dance is my medicine, this is why my goal is to spread more conscious dance in the world, bringing transformation and positive movement through my sets." Boom. 

A regular on the conscious dance scene, he's DJed and facilitated Ecstatic Dances and cacao ceremonies with Ecstatic Dance UK, Morning Gloryville, Wilderness Festival, Good Vibrations Society and loads more. He also runs his own sessions: Dance Medicine in Glastonbury and Elemental Rhythms in Bristol.

SPECIAL HEADSET DANCE

Both the Micro Rave and HoneyFlower Sound Systems are unavailable so we're going to have a special headset dance this Sunday. The last time we danced at EDB with headsets was almost a year ago, so we're excited to journey into this realm and experience the magic again. Dance in and out of the journey as you please - completely immersing yourself in the Ecstatic Dance and then enjoying moments of quiet in nature when needed. A truly unique experience.

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING

As an organised outdoor physical activity, our events are fully compliant with the latest government regulations and we have full permission from Bristol City Council and Avon & Somerset Police to run our Ecstatic Dance sessions on The Downs.

We ask all participants to take responsibility for themselves; and to be sensitive, considerate and respectful of others. 

Please do not attend this session if you are feeling ill or unwell.

ECSTATIC DANCE GUIDELINES

Ecstatic Dance is self-expression through free-form dance and movement. It’s an embodiment practice which brings awareness to and connects together heart, mind, body and soul; authentically connecting with your whole self and authentically connecting with others.

Our events are family friendly. All people and all abilities are welcome. 

We use the following guidelines to create a safe and held space for you to express the full spectrum of yourself, to express your uniqueness and to experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound:

- be here: no shoes
- be free: dance how you want / no judgement
- be present: no phones / cameras
- be clear: no intoxicants
- be embodied: no talking
- be consensual: respect boundaries / be aware of your own personal space and that of others

This scheme allows people who are financially comfortable, to pay towards the ticket of a dancer who is not so financially abundant.

£12 Concession (+50p bf)

Limited tickets part funded by our 'Pay-It-Forward' scheme. Please only choose this ticket type if you really need it.

PLEASE NOTE

- we don't offer any refunds, so you can either sell your ticket to another dancer via the Bristol Dance Tribe community group on Signal OR using ticketswap.uk and sharing the link on our Facebook event page OR you can transfer your ticket to a future event if you notify us up to 48 hours before the event 

- in case of heavy rain or unfavourable weather, the event will be cancelled and your ticket will be transferable to a future date of your choice

- as a participant at our sessions, please take full responsibility for yourself, your belongings and your well-being
