This is the beginning. This is the point where you stand in the world known and you hear a voice, you make a blunder, you meet a mystical fellow that makes it known to you that there is something else beyond this. There is a song on the wind as it dances through the trees to you, and it tells you of a landscape beyond this place.

This is the time to make a choice. Will you refuse the call of the herald and remain blanketed and numb? Or will you wrestle yourself out of it, put your boots on, turn your gaze to the horizon and step forward t'ward the song?

In this first workshop, we will think about the clues to the ideas and feelings we have outgrown. We will explore the symbol of the herald, the messenger, the one who brings to the call to adventure, and what it means to say yes or to say no to that call.

What to expect:

  • Making with clay
  • Group work
  • Free writing

What to bring:

  • Your own notebook / journal and pen if you'd prefer to use them
  • There will be water, tea, and snacks, but if you'd like anything else feel free to bring it
  • There's no need to bring ‘messy clothes’ or an apron for the clay work
