DJ & CEREMONY LEADER: OSARA

OSARA is a resident DJ at Ecstatic Dance Bristol and Ecstatic Dance UK (London). He began the Apprenticeship Programme with the School of Movement Medicine in 2019.

OSARA has DJ’d and facilitated at Ecstatic Dances such as: Los Angeles, London, Helsinki and Dallas (Texas) to name a few. 

He has also DJ’d, taught and facilitated at: the Ecstatic Dance International DJ Training, the Dance The Medicine Ecstatic DJ Conference, Boomtown, Buddhafield, Colourfest and Pollen Tribe as well as other festivals and events.

Having a love of music from a very young age and DJing from the age of 16, OSARA has an incredible, eclectic taste and deep knowledge of music. Using a combination of unreleased, newly released and old classics, he creates deep, powerful and uplifting dance journeys often comprising Underground, Tribal, Organic, Shamanic, Electronic, Intelligent and Sacred Dance Music full of heart and soul. With great care and attention to detail, he creates totally unique journeys, which respond to the spirit of time, community and place.

As an organised outdoor physical activity, our events are fully compliant with the latest government regulations. Our sessions are Covid-secure and respect social distancing measures. We ask all participants to take responsibility for themselves; and to be sensitive, considerate and respectful of others. If you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 (check here: nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms) then please stay at home, take care and rest.

WHAT TO BRING

- plenty of water & your own water bottle
- a lightweight rain jacket (in case of rain)
- dress in layers & according to weather

LOCATION

The location will be emailed to you along with your ticket. The location is about a 10/15 minute cycle from central Bristol. Parking is free. Please walk or cycle if possible.

ECSTATIC DANCE

Ecstatic Dance is about self-expression through free-form dance and movement. It’s a movement meditation which brings together the awareness of mind, heart and body; authentically connecting with self and others.

Our events are family friendly. Everyone and all abilities are welcome. 

We use the following guidelines to create a safe, held and sacred space for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound:

- be here: no shoes
- be free: dance how you want / no judgement
- be present: no phones / cameras
- be clear: no intoxicants
- be embodied: no talking
- be consensual: respect boundaries / be aware of your own personal space and that of others

SUPPORT EDB

EDB wasn't able to run any physical events for about 5 months because of Covid-19. So if anyone is able to financially support us please donate as little or as much as you can. Any donations are gratefully received! The donation option is available when buying your ticket. Your donations will be used to support EDB so we can continue offering amazing regular dances in Bristol and whilst operating events at smaller than usual capacities.

This scheme allows people who are financially comfortable, to pay towards the ticket of a dancer who is not so financially abundant. Every 1 x ‘Pay-It-Forward’ ticket bought, creates 1 x ‘Concession’ ticket. Please support this scheme if you’re able to.

These tickets, part funded by our 'Pay-It-Forward' scheme, will be released 48 hours before the event - please only choose this ticket type if you really need it

Under 12s

free (subject to availability of headsets)

Please note

- the price includes the rental of one headset per ticket

- we don't offer any refunds, but we can transfer your ticket to a future event if you notify us up to 48 hours before the event

- in case of heavy rain, the event will be postponed and your ticket will be transferable to a date of your choice

- by purchasing a ticket you agree that Ecstatic Dance Bristol is not liable for any injury you may incur at this event (dancing on the grass outdoors) and you agree to take full responsibility for yourself, you health and your well-being
