Autumn Equinox Dance

A warm invitation to join us for a dance journey as we gather to welcome the powerful time of the Autumn Equinox.

As we consciously tune into the cycles of nature, just as our ancestors did through rituals honouring the changing seasons, we deepen our relationship with our own inner cycles. Autumn invites us to reflect on the blessings of the summer months and express our gratitude.

Infused with gentle guidance, soulful self-enquiry, and evocative music - you will be part of a collective journey, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. As we move and connect, an enriching co-creative synergy often arises, creating a unique and meaningful experience.

You are invited to dance freely, opening your body, heart, and mind to insight and inspiration. Together, we will connect to the balancing energies of the Equinox, embracing a greater sense of compassionate presence with ourselves, each other, and the wider web of life. Our collective energy becomes a dancing prayer in which we honour the interconnectedness of all beings and extend our heartfelt intentions to all our relations - past, present, and future.

Meet Your Facilitator, Mira Khanya

Mira is a passionate advocate of movement as a transformative and healing practice. Her multidisciplinary background spans visual and performing arts, meditation, shamanic journeys, butoh, and therapeutic work, among other fields. As a dancer, therapist, and artist, Mira brings a wealth of experience to her craft, infusing each journey with creativity and depth. Her deep connection with dance led her to complete an apprenticeship and training program under the guidance of the founders of the School of Movement Medicine. Today, she not only serves as a mentor for the school and creates independent work but also collaborates with Medicine Festival, Ecstatic Dance UK & Bristol, Kaylo and other organisations - crafting immersive and meditative dance journeys.

Event Timings:

• Date: Monday, 18 September 2023
• Doors Open: 6:45pm
• Session starts 7pm
• Session ends 9pm

Venue:

The Roundhouse near Hemel Hempstead is a beautiful sacred space - handmade and community made from straw bale and green oak. Its walls are rendered internally with clay and externally with lime render. The dance floor is a clay, sand and straw earthen floor, heated by water underfloor heating, powered by solar panels and air sourced heat pump. **Address provided in booking confirmation email. The Roundhouse is 5min drive from Hemel Hempstead train station.

Cancellation Policy:

• Tickets are not refundable but transferable to another person.
• Please email details of the name change and their email address to mirakhanya@gmail.com and organise finances between yourselves.

Paying It Forward:

• Your donations and a percentage of the profit will go towards charitable projects around the globe.
• It will contribute towards my fundraising for the Summer Long Dance 2024.
