THE INVITATION
Join us on the Elemental Woman Retreat for a week-long deep dive into our wild and wise womanhood. Creating a brave group container to support us in connecting more joyously to ourselves, each other and the natural world. Weaving together a full spectrum of yoga practices, tantrik wisdom goddesses, cyclical wisdom, rituals, dance, cacao ceremony and more. A juicy week in community to liberate your elemental woman!
Through the week we will be exploring our 'yes', our 'no', our shadows, our light, our trauma, our gifts, our capacity to give and receive pleasure, our edges and our comfort zone. We will dance with our wild woman. This can be challenging work, but that's where the growth happens!
“This retreat was life changing and life affirming. My confidence and self-love has grown tremendously - as a result I feel more able to deal with the ups and downs that life will throw at me. I am truly grateful for this experience and new found friends. I felt incredibly held and supported by the facilitators and the rest of the group. The yoga, food, company and workshops were all excellent. There were tears, laughter, deep and meaningful chats, dancing, ceremonies and so many life reflections. I cannot recommend it more highly.” — SARAH, BRISTOL

WHO IS THIS FOR?
The group is open to all those who identify as a woman. Unfortunately the site is not accessible for those with certain physical disabilities - please contact Megan to discuss further.
Taking part in this retreat requires adequate mental and physical health to be self-responsible within group processes; we are all facing the horrors and joys of life and your whole self is fully welcome, but do get in touch if you have any concerns or questions.
WHY COME?
“It was like we were learning all the things we should have been taught in school! Also, the space I had to release, process, heal, cry, speak, feel - I wasn’t expecting this. I honestly healed parts of me I didn’t know needed healing and released emotions/traumas I didn’t know were there or needed releasing - a huge thank you for that and the safe, beautiful space provided” - JESS
To meet our different parts with curiosity and compassion, to connect to the richness of our bodies and the deep wisdom that can be found there, to unlearn the bullshit and remember our truths, to question single-stories of ‘woman’ and step into the full-fat version of ourselves, to touch into our unique gifts and the profound power of community.
This will be a gentle yet brave, welcoming yet challenging, soft yet strong space for you to be held and from that loving place, explore your edges. All workshops are also optional, with free time each day.
WHO ARE THE FACILITATORS?
Megan - A little about the experience I will be leaning into to hold you in this space alongside the rest of the team: I am a clinical psychologist working with adults with complex trauma in the NHS, an experienced yoga teacher & teacher trainer, and a nature-based facilitator with over 14 years of experience holding space for others and more than 20 years of practicing yoga. I also founded and direct the Bristol Yoga Roots Project.
Anz Loveridge - assistant teacher and powerful space holder in her own right: https://www.anzahatayoga.com/
Briony Greenhill - voice work for the mouth above and the mouth below: https://www.brionygreenhill.com/
Shell Toll & Amy Emerson - chef and assistant: https://www.flowwithshell.com/catering (pics on website all from last year's retreat)
ANYTHING ELSE?
When not in the yoga space you can enjoy the chill out areas, peaceful gardens or the sauna. Only a short trip away is the colourful town of Totnes and the River Dart, ideal for wild swimming. The retreat space is surrounded by the glorious Yeoland, with altars to the different elements across the landscape. In the free time in the afternoon there will be craft activities and trips to the river or coast that are optional. Anz will be offering her gorgeous massages at an extra cost, and Shell will be serving up three delicious meals a day, plus snacks and hot drinks. If you haven’t eaten Shell’s food before, prepare to have your experience of ‘retreat food’ completely redefined!
“There are so many things to say about this retreat, it operates on so many levels – but it's one word, transformative, that runs through my thoughts. If you can go, you should grab it with both hands. I wish I'd experienced this retreat as a young woman too, it would have transformed my life sooner. None of it is easy; but just to be, to feel at home in a safe group of women, who will listen to you and tell you of their own experiences, opens up your mind like a flower. It makes you feel less alone, less small, more powerful as a woman; and who doesn't need that in this world?” - GILLIAN, CHESTER, 56 YEARS OLD

Absolutely amazing retreat. Megan created a wonderful schedule and hosted the group with sensitivity and deep insight. This was my third time on this retreat and it is the best I have ever experienced in over 40 years of yoga practice. 🙏

Absolutely blown away by the power of this retreat. Megan holds the space with gentleness and power, and is very experienced in group work. This is not just a yoga retreat, there is so much depth and wisdom shared, and I already feel the work here rippling out to my every day life. No emotion is too big to share, we were well held (and fed!) throughout. I've already booked onto the next one! :)

As always, Megan’s workshop was pure magic. It was a beautiful combination of reflecting, exploring, dancing with what is present and resting. A perfect afternoon for resetting and connecting with other people in the community. Megan holds the space for you to be truly present and authentic. The only down side is it’s not long enough!

This retreat was more than I ever imagined it could be. I felt I touched my core, remembered who I really was and what was important in life. Megan is a very powerful and sensitive woman who has used her own life journey, years of experience as a clinical psychologist treating deeply traumatised patients along with her extensive knowledge of yoga to create this retreat. She has woven her knowledge, beliefs, heartfelt desires and dreams into an intricate web which she conveys very concisely from her heart to the group. She holds every single person with her seemingly tireless attention and weaves them together to love and hold each other, giving the group hope in our increasingly dark world. She encourages you to remember the positive and work with the negative. The eco retreat itself is beautiful and well tucked away, the food was amazing and I emerged a more whole and joyful person.

I was so impressed by Megan's facilitating and vulnerability. I'm really taking away the importance of sisterhood and connection, this week has been so important in beginning to heal my relationship towards and with other women. The connection with my yoni is so much stronger, I feel like it's the first time I've really listened to and honoured her, which has brought up a lot, but feels like a significant and useful shift. Also the caring and nurturing aspect of the group, the practices and the food has been so important, it's made me want to nurture and look after myself more since the retreat. It was such a beautiful and magical week. I'm so so grateful.

There are so many things to say about this retreat, it operates on so many levels – but it's one word, transformative, that runs through my thoughts. It allows time and space, to think about yourself as a woman, what that really means, what influences your behaviour, how to free yourself from limiting beliefs. To connect to yourself physically, through yoga, through touch and sound and movement, and to the group, through learning and sharing, being in a beautiful space eating delicious food, having loads of fun – it's all amazingly transformative, it changes how you think. Megan creates a space that feels so safe you can allow yourself acts of freedom, to see what could transform, to commit a radical act of being. The experience of living in a community of women seeking knowledge, all on different paths, is an experience so rare as an adult woman, so magical in itself, that you should grab it with both hands. I wish I'd experienced this retreat as a young woman too, it would have transformed my life sooner. You could find a seed here; a kernel of knowledge to enable you to pass from one state to another, perhaps to begin to realize yourself as part of a wider whole. None of it is easy; but just to be, to feel at home in a safe group of women, who will listen to you and tell you of their own experiences, opens up your mind like a flower. It makes you feel less alone, less small, more powerful as a woman; and who doesn't need that in this world?
