‘Speaking the truth of our anguish for the world brings down the walls between us, drawing us into deep solidarity. That solidarity is all the more real for the uncertainty we face.’
We live in uncertain times and can feel overwhelmed and distressed by information about the state of the planet, but rarely do we have the opportunity to express this. This is an invitation to join a safe, respectful and confidential circle to own and honour our feelings about what is happening. We will also spend time integrating our experience and reflecting how we can express and embody the insights gained.
We shall be using the honed and well used spiral technique from Joanna Macy's work- The Work That Reconnects.
The Facilitators
Julia Bedford is an artist and student medical herbalist. She loves facilitating workshops especially connecting folk with nature. She trained to facilitate the Work that Reconnects the winter of 2023, this was to deepen her work with the environment and her community. Since she has held in person workshops.
Ramona Belcher MA is an artist, sacred clown, facilitator and activist. She trained in 23/24 in the Work that Reconnects, and now brings her years of experience of community, creativity, embodiment, and singing to the work.
Dearbhaile Bradley M.A. has over thirty years’ experience of facilitating groups in a wide range of contexts. She trained with Joanna Macy in 1992 and has been running these workshops since then. She has also trained other facilitators in this work in the U.K., Netherlands, France and Belgium.
Tickets
Tickets are £20 + donation on the day. The deposit covers our direct costs for running the event. All those involved in running this Truth Mandala have elected to donate their fees but it would be good if your donation reflected an awareness of the time and energy we put into in planning and running the event.
Accessibility
The days event is in a sloped woodland yet we will be holding the Truth Mandala in the lower part of the slope that is flat and near to the car park. The paths are woodchipped and wheelchairs and mobility buggies can navigate them, though it is not the ideal surface for both. We will strive to meet mobility needs, however please do not hesitate to be in touch if you have any concerns or questions.
We are committed to caring for the planet so you will be asked to participate in the GREEN TRAVEL PLAN if attending.
