Ethereal Flow

Ethereal Flow came from an idea formulated between Kate Freyja McLoughlin and Norman ‘Rubba’ Stephenson to guide people into trance using dance focusing mainly on Afrikan, Dub and Reggae music. We offer an alternative way of using these rhythms to enhance your trance experience. 

Our idea is to create a holistic environment for people to experience the spiritual benefits of dance from a more natural state. We provide a space for people to enter trance without external distractions so that you can be guided into what we call Ethereal Flow.

Norman Stephenson

Affectionately known as Rubba is an Afrikan/global dance extraordinaire, celebrated performer & teacher. Rubba picked up his nickname as a 16-year-old whilst living on the street of St Paul's Bristol, where he discovered his innate desire to dance. He instinctively knew that even if he had nothing else going for him, at least he could dance his troubles away. His spiritual approach, fluid technique, supple movements, and graceful style of dancing has endeared him to audiences, fellow dancers & students all over  the world. Without doubt he is versatile and one of a select few who can; perform, teach, deliver excellent workshops and implement meaningful projects. He only lives for one thing and that is to continue offering African holistic and traditional forms of expression towards improving the mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing of others.

Kate Freyja McLoughlin 

Kate has been been sharing ecstatic dance and movement trance journeys since 2017 when she started her training in New Zealand. Since 2019 Kate furthered her studies and began working as a breathwork teacher and embodied intimacy coach. From sharing a combination of traditional shamanism, tantra and movement practices, Kate assists people who are feeling dispirited or a loss of direction to reconnect with their power, heal from trauma & feel their feet firmly rooted on the earth once more. Kate empowers people to remember the sacred ways found in ancestral teachings, to learn to express themselves fully with unshakable confidence. Her mission is to help people- to remember how to return to their natural state of being an embodiment of honest raw wild love.
