Here's a question for you…
How did you connect with your work colleagues today?
Are you being curious and open with your questions, rather than asking questions that have a “yes” or “no” or “I'm fine” (but are you really?) answer?
If your go-to question on a Monday is “How was your weekend”?" - which can too easily be answered with a variation of the theme of “Not bad” - try this tweak instead…
“What was great about your weekend?”
Just that simple tweak could light up the person you're asking as they're encouraged to break the usual conversation pattern by sharing a happy recent experience with you - and who knows, you could even get to know each other that little bit better!
