Hi there,

After a dancing tango for more than a decade, I recognised that the very best dancers were either from Argentina, or had spent many years there. Sometimes the place of origin remains important, and sometimes (like with soccer) it doesn't.

So I was curious to hear Andrew Holocek's view in relation to meditation and nonduality. Are the best teachers from the east? Andrew has completed a 3-year retreat in the Tibetan tradition and spent several years in both East and West.  His answer was both honest and nuanced. Whilst eastern cultures can provide an unrivalled immersion that supports certain insights, every tradition has blind spots.

This gives the current integration of east and west an advantage. Whilst meditation can do a lot, you probably need therapy!

Andrew Holecek: 3-year meditation retreat, therapy, shadow and reality

We had planned to speak about the Jay Garfield / Bernardo Kastrup debate, but I had too many other questions, and we then realised this topic would work best as a workshop. Andrew will teach the meditations that give a direct insight of what he's pointing to. We've scheduled this for the 4th of September

Several other workshops coming up, online and in London, with Richard Lang, James Cooke and more, and I hope we can keep exploring this fascinating part of reality together…

Until then!
