Join us for a transformative ceremony that celebrates Earth Day. Come experience the magic of a carefully crafted Movement Medicine Dance Journey, designed to awaken the heart and guide us into a deeper sense of connection.

The journey weaves together the healing power of dance with soulful self-enquiry, evocative music, and the potency and strength of community and co-creative synergy. Aware of the suffering and disconnection we see in the world, we gather resources to empower us as we envision a brighter future. One where we can purposefully engage in support of our planet. We call on the rich and fertile atmosphere of the season to nourish our hopes, dreams, and intentions, as we come together to lift an embodied prayer for our own lives, the earth and all our relations.

PARTICIPANTS SHARE ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES

“The Movement Medicine Spring Equinox Ceremony was an immersive, contained co- created and full sensory movement based ceremonial journey. Mira sensitively and intuitively wove the threads of the Movement Medicine practice into a shared tapestry which contained and  connected our embodied experiences and dreams for the future. Mira would sometimes layer the music with inspiring spoken performance using language and sound to encourage a deepening of our experience and self expression. I was left inspired, uplifted , connected and with the image of committing to watering my seeds of hope and desire this Spring with my own compassion and love. I highly recommend Mira’s work, it is safe, permissive snd nourishing at the deepest level.” - Dance Movement Psychotherapist, UKCP, ADMP

“Yet another beautiful ceremony. Mira holds a fiercely loving space where you feel both held and supported but also encouraged to take responsibility for yourself. She somehow embodies a gentle yet firm hand at your back that empowers you to be courageous in the dance, to reflect on which areas of our lives we can bring attention and responsibility to, but also to include all parts of ourselves and each other in loving awareness and understanding. I danced deeply with my joy and with my grief and with an utter reverence for the magic of this gift of life and the privilege it is to be able to safely dance with other humans. These ceremonies are created with devotional love and care and you can really feel that. Thank you Mira and team.” - Rosanna

“I was feeling in a very isolated, resistant and self-doubting place before the ceremony. Mira's facilitation gave me space to grieve, laugh, dance and alchemise. I was put in touch with my joy, focus and inspiration. I left the ceremony feeling able to tend to my needs and so excited for my life, who I am becoming, what I am creating- a far cry from how alone I was feeling prior. The dance was true medicine! Mira is a powerful, tender and reverent force of nature. Her devotion to this work is felt deeply and she holds the space with such grace. I am so grateful for what the day has given me and already feel like significant seeds were planted for the journey ahead.” - Anonymous

YOUR FACILITATOR

Mira Khanya is a passionate advocate of movement as a transformative and healing practice. Her journey began with her exploration of visual and performing arts which led her to a BA (Hons) Drama degree, focusing on Physical Theatre. She then expanded her experience to include meditation, shamanic journeys, butoh, yoga, embodied listening and contact improvisation, among others. Her unique creative approach enabled her to work with individuals on the autistic spectrum to support healthy self-expression. Mira's deep connection with dance led her to complete an apprenticeship and training programme with the founders of the School of Movement Medicine - Ya’Acov and Susannah Darling Khan. Today she is a mentor for the school and combines her wealth of experience as a dancer, therapist and artist - to create immersive meditative journeys. Dances to inspire individuals and cultivate community connections. Mira uses tribal rhythms, ethno-electronica, medicine songs, sacred sounds, and meaningful language to activate the embodied imagination, and support a journey of self-reflection, empowerment, and transformation. Her spaces encourage compassionate presence with oneself, each other, and the wider web of life.
