DJ & CEREMONY LEADER: OSARA

OSARA is a resident DJ at Ecstatic Dance Bristol and Ecstatic Dance UK (London). He is also an Apprentice with the School of Movement Medicine.

He has DJ’d and facilitated at Ecstatic Dances such as: Los Angeles, London, Helsinki, Santa Barbara and Dallas to name a few. 

He has also DJ’d, taught and facilitated at the Ecstatic Dance International DJ Training, the Dance The Medicine Ecstatic DJ Conference, Boomtown, Buddhafield, Colourfest and Pollen Tribe as well as other festivals, trainings and events.

Having a love of music from a very young age and DJing from the age of 16, OSARA has an incredible, eclectic taste and deep knowledge of music. Using a combination of unreleased, newly released and old classics, he creates deep, powerful and uplifting dance journeys often comprising Global, Underground, Tribal, Organic, Electronic, Shamanic, Intelligent and Sacred Dance Music full of heart and soul. With great care and attention to detail, he creates totally unique journeys, which respond to the spirit of time, community and place.

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING

As an organised outdoor physical activity, our events are fully compliant with the latest government regulations and we have full permission from Bristol City Council to run our Ecstatic Dance sessions on The Downs. Our sessions are covid-secure and respect social distancing measures.

We ask all participants to take responsibility for themselves; and to be sensitive, considerate and respectful of others. If you are experiencing any symptoms of covid-19 (check here: http://nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms) then please stay at home, rest and be well. 

Please note, that currently, participants cannot travel between tiers to attend our sessions.

WHAT TO BRING

- water & your own bottle
- a lightweight rain jacket (in case of rain)
- warm clothes (dress in layers & according to weather)
- a small towel

LOCATION

Google Maps link below. There is free parking along Ladies Mile (and Circular Road Road around the corner). Please walk or cycle if possible. Please avoid lift sharing unless travelling with people from the same household or bubble.

ECSTATIC DANCE

Ecstatic Dance is about self-expression through free-form dance and movement. It’s a movement meditation which brings together the awareness of heart, body and mind; authentically connecting with self and others.

Our events are family friendly. Everyone and all abilities are welcome. 

We use the following guidelines to create a safe, held and sacred space for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound:

- be here: no shoes
- be free: dance how you want / no judgement
- be present: no phones / cameras
- be clear: no intoxicants
- be embodied: no talking
- be consensual: respect boundaries / be aware of your own personal space and that of others

This scheme allows people who are financially comfortable, to pay towards the ticket of a dancer who is not so financially abundant. Every 1 x ‘Pay-It-Forward’ ticket bought, creates 1 x ‘Concession’ ticket. Please support this scheme if you’re able to.

These tickets, part funded by our 'Pay-It-Forward' scheme, will be released 48 hours before the event - please only choose this ticket type if you really need it

Please note…

- we don't offer any refunds, but we can transfer your ticket to a future event if you notify us up to 48 hours before the event

- in case of heavy rain, the event will be postponed and your ticket will be transferable to a date of your choice

- by purchasing a ticket you agree that Ecstatic Dance Bristol is not liable for any injury you may incur at this event (dancing on the grass outdoors) and you agree to take full responsibility for yourself, you health and your well-being
