This circle is an inclusive Womb-centric* space for women, and all trans and non-binary people.

The Capricorn Full Moon illuminates the strictures of power structures and systems which no longer serve. At this time, we honour the re-emergence of the Wisewoman through her face as Baba Yaga and restore her to her rightful place of power.

We will explore her image and story in response to what emerges in the group. Possible themes could include: the sacred ‘No’; intuition; ancestral inheritance and wisdom, among others.

However you inhabit gender (or genderless-ness), exploring the all-encompassing and multifaceted nature of goddesses can expand our perception of ourselves and others, and reconnects us with ancient ways of knowing.

Goddesses enable us to embrace our wholeness and our human-ness as we see it echoed through their stories.

Our Theme: Baba Yaga

You do not go in search of Baba Yaga, lost in the darkness you stumble upon her, or more likely, she finds you.

The Yaga is a force of nature, unpredictable and untameable. By necessity, she returns us to listen to our deep inner wisdom. Yaga can help you find your own way.

Whether you connect with Baba Yaga as a character, an archetype, or a full-fledged Goddess if you are feeling her pull let us gather and delve deep into her mysterious forest. All of you is welcome here.

Inspired by the fearsome Crone of Slavic folklore, come together in community to share from personal experience, and witness each other in deep listening as we walk our sacred paths of wholeness, empowerment, and truth.

Now is your time to let the Yaga find you. Come nourish yourself in her magic.

What’s On Offer:

  • Sharing circle
  • Folktale
  • Visualisation journey to meet the Yaga
  • Ritual for new beginnings
  • Tarot card pull

*Who are Wyrd Sistxrs?

Wyrd Sistxrs are united by the Womb as a sacred site of creativity, contestation, and protest. Whether your connection with the Womb comes from your physical embodiment or through the Cosmic Womb, you are welcome here.

We honour Womb's sacred spiracular nature: every month, and every year, we are inducted into wombsense and the potency of the Cosmic Womb. Those without a cycle can connect with this waxing and waning through the Moon, and circular process through the seasons.

We explore represenations of wombearers through mythology and folklore to find common ground among our experiences and honour difference. We respect the diverse ways we choose to challenge traditional gender norms.

We understand that ours is a shared struggle of sistxrhood needed to heal modern culture of the strictures of patriachy. Wherever you are on that journey, Wyrd Sistxrs is here for you.

Agreements:

Circle is a revolution of culture; to facilitate this, those attending this space agree hold each other, and be held by, these agreements.

  • We agree that any personal stories that are shared in this circle are confidential and will be kept within the group.
  • We listen with compassion and curiosity. We listen without judging, or feeling the need to comment, fix, or give advice. We do this because we honour the journey that every individual is on and the central role of their own inner wisdom on that journey.
  • We agree to moments of silence. We see the pause as a necessary part of the conversation. It gives us a moment to think, to settle, to re-centre ourselves, and to make space for the wisdom that is often located in the quieter parts of our minds.
  • We agree to be mindful of what we share and how we share it. We understand that this circle has a central theme: “What can we learn from Baba Yaga about ourselves, the world, and our experiences?” We agree to be called back to that centre by anyone in the group.
  • We trust that whoever shows up and whatever shows up in this circle is at it should be.

Your Facilitator:

I have been a conscious student of the Womb for ten years through connection with my own body, the Moon, the spiracular circles, cycles, and abundant flow of nature, and practical exploration of goddesses and their lore. My work honours the Womb in all forms.

My approach is trauma-informed. My training and professional background is in coaching, circle, depth psychology, ancient Hellenistic astrology, indigenous and postcolonial perspectives, ancestor revernce, shamanic practise, and service user-led mental health research.

The event is located at my home in Redfield BS5, near St George's Park. Precise location will be sent with ticket purchase.

The sharing and meditation resonated deeply with me. Listening to the story of Baba Yaga and reflecting on how it mirrored my own life allowed me to see myself more clearly. Hearing others share their interpretations was enriching, and the meditation took me on a profound journey. I especially loved the facilitator's calming voice.

I really appreciated the thoughtful details that tied into the theme like the incense, tea, and the paper we burned. These subtle touches enhanced the overall experience and made the evening special.
