Members Monthly PsySocial

Join us for our monthly social event for Psychedelic Society members designed to build a community of like-minded souls as we explore, share, network, and discuss.

Theme: Psychedelic Peer Support Services

We have a special guest at this month's social is inspired by our friends at The Fireside Project. The Fireside Project, based in the US, operates a peer-to-peer psychedelic support hotline and provides public education on peer psychedelic support from tripping, trip-sitting to integrating. Their mission is to help people minimise the risks and fulfill the potential of their psychedelic experiences.

Special guest: Meena Thiagaraj

Meena is an independent pharmaceutical Consultant as well as a Harm Reduction expert specialising in supporting people through psychedelic crises. As an international person who has lived in several other countries with very divergent cultural traditions (as well as drug policies), including Kuwait, the Philippines, Slovakia and Germany, Meena brings a much-needed multicultural perspective to peer support and harm reduction.

Meena is currently involved in developing better practices for psychedelics both in ceremonial settings as well as clinical trial protocols. There is currently great scope for improvement in terms of incorporating better respect for diverse cultural traditions, as well an urgent need for integration, support services and protection for participants in ceremonies and clinical trials in the UK.

Meena is on the Advisory Board for the Fireside Project: the world’s first Psychedelic Peer-to-Peer Support line service.

A fabulous event with excellent organization and so many like-minded people! There wasn’t a single moment or program I didn’t enjoy—in fact, I loved all of them. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Carly B, who was everywhere and has put in so much effort to hold the space and ensure everything ran smoothly.
