Soulful Saturday vibes in Camden. Uplifting harmony singing for all. No experience needed, just your voice + an open heart
Sanctuary Singing Circle – Camden (@Yogabase London)
A warm and playful space to sing your heart out
Step into the calm 🌿
We gather each week in a cosy Camden yoga shala sanctuary, to sing harmony songs that lift, soothe, and connect. Folk-inspired, heart-opening, and joyfully human. This is singing for the soul, not for performance!
No experience? Perfect 🌿
All voices are welcome, whether you’re a professional singer or just finding your way back to your voice. Expect easy warm-ups, full-bodied sound, deep presence, and the gentle high of letting voices blend together. And theres plenty to keep pro singers engaged too!
Your leader 🌿
Sanctuary is led by Alfie Jones, an experienced facilitator, choir leader, singer-songwriter and professional musician. Alfie has been singing in choirs since he was 8 and lives to see people discover the joy of using their voices together.
What to bring? 🌿
£10 / £8 Concession. Cash preferred. Wear comfy clothes and bring water. Please arrive a few minutes early if you can.
“It's been amazing and incredibly fun! Alfie is a really great organiser and leader. The circles are super playful, super joyful, and sometimes challenging - in the best way possible - in terms of learning the different harmonies. He is charismatic and inclusive, and the song choices are beautiful. Blissful and beautiful experience, thank you!” - Nikolai
"I've been coming to Alfie's choirs for the last 3-4 weeks and it's been incredible, and such a nourishing community space. The way Alfie held the sessions I always felt completely relaxed and welcome to explore my voice and sing in a way that feels really good. Singing together with other people every week really gives me energy to move forward for the rest of the week. Whatever your experience I really recommend these choirs." - Saraswati
"I never really thought I wanted to be in choirs, or that it would be very exciting, but Alfie's enthusiasm brought me to the choir and I actually just had the best time and felt connected to everyone around me. It was great to explore my confidence in my voice and to play and sing and dance and be in a fun and safe space to explore musically in ways I never had before. He is a great leader and chooses great songs and it was a lot of fun! Thanks so much for a great season, I look forward to doing it again" - Evin
"I am trained in Indian classical music and am used to singing just by myself usually and am terribly self-critical if I don't get the notes right, but singing with Alfie is just a whole different way of approaching singing, with total acceptance and with these open arms, you just feel like "everything is ok" - it's ok to get it wrong sometimes and then he very gently brings you back in, he picks up the smallest things but he is so nice about it that you feel perfectly fine, it doesn't matter, He creates a sense of oneness and cohesion in the group which is so heartwarming, it really sets you up nicely for the week. We do it every weekend and can't wait for the next one!" - Sangeeta
"Alfie is one of the kindest most caring people I know, he has such a huge heart. His background as a chorister and folk singer means that he has a richness and sensitivity to how music flows through people. He is very understanding and there is no judgement, no "you're getting it wrong" or "you're not good enough", it's so inclusive. People just feel at home. People that have never sung before or people that don't feel confident singing, people that have never been to a choir or even wanted to, find community here. He creates community. He's also a men's work leader which gives him the ability to really listen and hold space and connect with the group. He's a very special person and if you ever what to connect with choirs you should check him out, he's beautiful." - Mitch
"I always forget how much I love singing in a choir. Alfie holds the space really really well, my memory is awful but the songs were super simple to pick up and ebveryone had a great time. It's such a calming experience, really a good thing for the nervous system" - Tom
"I joined this choir to broaden my musical skills and co-creation and engagement with community. Alfie has done a very good job of putting together a structured session over many weeks thats allowed complete beginners to participate alongside more experienced singers, and they always end with a beautiful feeling of communal love and joy" - Mark
"It was my first time and I was pretty nervous and felt a lot of resistance also, I'm not a big singer and have the feeling that my voice isn't that nice, but the session was really great, Alfie was very good at managing everyone and making everyone feel comfortable in the session. During the session my nervousness went away, I started to really enjoy myself. It was fun with lots of laughter in between and I started to like singing!" - Kim
"I was really hesitant to come to the choir at first because I never really sang in front of people. I enjoy singing in the shower and on my own, but Alfie created the space where we all came together and it felt so amazing. I really learnt to like my voice and to enjoy it. I'm going to miss this, its been a Saturday ritual. Thanks Alfie!" - Sina
