You are warmly invited to join us in ceremony as we come together to honour the potent energy around the time of the Winter Solstice.

Immerse yourself in the healing power of dance, ritual, ancestral drum rhythms and the heart-opening medicine of cacao on the full moon. When we consciously tune into the cycles of nature, our understanding of our own cycles begin to deepen. Winter’s wisdom offers us a time for reflection, inviting us to turn inward, listen to the whispers within, and connect to the unbroken intelligence of life.

Guided by experienced facilitators, you will embark on a journey of soulful self-enquiry - a collective experience that fosters community, togetherness and co-creative synergy. As we dance freely, we open our bodies, hearts and minds to insight and inspiration, gathering resources to strengthen us so that we may embody our gifts as a healing force in the world. By deepening our compassionate presence with ourselves, each other, and the wider web of life, we honour the interconnectedness of all beings, extending our love to all our relations.

To celebrate this special time of year, we will work with the powerful medicine of cacao. Revered by our Central American ancestors as a health elixir and ceremonial medicine, cacao has been used through the ages to support the healing of the mind, body and spirit. Together, we will set our intentions and enjoy a beautifully prepared cup of ceremonial cacao.

Meet Your Facilitator - Mira Khanya:

A passionate advocate of movement as a transformative and healing practice, Mira creates immersive and meditative dance journeys that invite deep connection. Originally from South Africa, her multidisciplinary background spans visual and performing arts, meditation, shamanic journeys, butoh, and therapeutic work. Mira's deep connection with dance led her to complete an apprenticeship and training program with the founders of the School of Movement Medicine. Today, she serves as a mentor for the school, crafts independent projects, and collaborates with Medicine Festival, Ecstatic Dance groups and other like-minded organisations around the world.

Special Guest - Dembis Thioung:

We are honoured to welcome back Dembis Thioung, a master of traditional West African rhythms, to our ceremony. Renowned for his mastery of the dunduns - melodic bass drums that embody the heartbeat, melody, and soul of West African music - Dembis carries the rich heritage of his ancestors. Born into a lineage of storytellers and drum makers in Senegal, his rhythms transcend time, evoking the spirit of community, connection and unity. Join us as Dembis guides us on a powerful journey through these sacred ancestral rhythms. Learn more about his transformative offerings HERE.
