This is the third of a new series of monthly social events for Psychedelic Society members designed to build a community of like-minded souls as we explore, share, network, and discuss.

Theme: Psychedelic Integration. 

At this month's social we're diving into all things integration. ‘Integration’ is a bit of a buzz word in the psychedelic world these days but what does it really mean to integrate a psychedelic experience? Why is integration so important? What are its elements and what are the barriers to maintaining integration? 

Our guest facilitator, Henry Whitfield, a psychotherapist and academic researcher specialising in psychedelic integration, will explore these questions and offer some practical methods to help you integrate your own psychedelic experiences.

We will be meeting at Love Shack, a vegan restaurant and cocktail bar spread over three beautiful exposed brick arches in the heart of Hackney, East London. A variety of delicious food, drinks (including mushroom cacao!) will be available for purchase.

Facilitator

Henry Whitfield

Henry is an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy trainer, a senior Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) Trainer and a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. He has trained and supervised psychological therapists in the NHS for nearly 20 years and is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychedelic-assisted therapy at Maastricht University. 

He has collected high density longitudinal data of 50 participants undertaking a psilocybin retreat followed by integration therapy. Most of this these data (including nearly 200 interviews) examine the integration phase of of psychedelic-assisted therapy. His latest research paper offers a new integral model of psychedelic therapy interconnecting the three phases: preparation, guided psychedelic experiences, and active integration that systemically reinforces personality change.
