Prepare a delicious soup with corn, squash, and beans - the Three Sisters!
Workshop: Three Sisters Soup
Date: Thursday, 21 November 2024
Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Location: Reimagine Co (206 Piccadilly St, London ON)
Join us for yet another in-person, hands-on workshop with Grow Cook Learn!
We're celebrating the harvest season by preparing a delicious soup with corn, squash, and beans! Some Indigenous communities call these crops the “Three Sisters” because they help each other grow when planted side by side.
At this workshop, you'll learn:
- One version of the Indigenous story of the Three Sisters
- About how corn, squash, and beans grow and support each other
- How to prepare a soup with corn, squash, and beans
What you'll need:
- Enthusiasm to learn and cook!
- Your own freezer-safe container(s) in which to store your prepared ingredients
Note: you will be preparing a freezer-friendly meal to take home and cook at a later date - but a plant-based drop dumpling soup (prepared in advance by the facilitators) will be served during the presentation section of the workshop.
This event is free to attend. Please RSVP to let us know how many people to expect, and please cancel your reservation if you are no longer able to come (so that we can offer your spot to someone else). Reimagine Co is a fully accessible venue, and we welcome participants of all abilities, ages and backgrounds. This is a family-friendly workshop!
