Journey Beyond the Bardos in a Meditative Sound Journey to make Peace with Death & Meet your Inner Luminosity

About The Event 

Inspired by the Tibetan Book of the Dead, Journey Beyond the Bardos is a sacred death rite that takes you on an inner exploration of the dying process. 

Through a deep yet gentle meditation and a mystical soundscape woven by two ritual sound artists, Oyu & Sound Travels, you’ll be guided through the space between life and death - an invitation to encounter your inner luminosity. 

After the journey, you will be gently guided back into your body, grounding the experience by collectively weaving the voices of our hearts together. 

By immersing ourselves in the exploration of death, we set the intention of creating a safe and sacred container - inviting peace in facing the inevitable and bringing greater presence into our lives. 

The sound journey features the mystical ney flute beloved by Rumi, throat singing, shamanic vocals, monochord, Tibetan bowls and various ethnic instruments - creating a soundscape that transcends culture, space, and time.

Schedule 

No entry will be allowed after 7:10pm to avoid disruption to the sonic space. 

6:45pm Sound Temple Door Opens 
7pm - 8:30pm Sound Ceremony 
8:30pm - 9pm Closing Circle & Integration

What to Bring

The space will be heated. We provide yoga mats and blankets but if you want additional comfort please bring cushions or sheepskins 
& water bottle to keep yourself comfortable when laying down. There will also be chairs if you prefer to be seated.

Oyu

Oyu is passionate about weaving ancient Chinese wisdom of Daoism, power of breath and our voices to help us dissolve into non-dual state of consciousness. She has a deep connection with nature. Her intuitive voice brings harmony, openness and timelessness into the space she holds. Sound Travels 

Sound Travels Joe is a sonic explorer who is on a mission to explore sounds from different times and places across the world. A sound journey artist who is bringing a variety of wind instruments, throat singing techniques and more into the space to create a deep, powerful sound experience to the listeners. https://www.instagram.com/sound__travels

Your Organiser

Callum is an event coordinator for The Psychedelic Society and a life-long learner in the exploration of consciousness. He has completed a MSc in Medical Anthropology at University College London where he specialised in research on the phenomenology of consciousness, psychedelics and the therapeutic and healing arts in mystical traditions around the world. 

Callum regularly delivers talks and workshops on mental health, meditation and the breath to companies, groups and festivals across the UK. He is an advocate of transformative and psychedelic experiences that are grounded in transpersonal and somatic philosophy and psychology.
