Psychedelic Speed-Friending (New Members Special Offer)

This is a special Summer Edition of Speed-Friending, as we're opening it up to anyone interested in becoming a Psychedelic Society member. If you join as a member (from only £5 a month) within a week of this event, we will give you £10 of credit. Essentially, this means that your first two months of membership are free! You can put your credit towards any Psychedelic Society event, which can all be found on the Dandelion platform. Usually our Speed-Friending events are for members only, so becoming a member means you will be able to buy a ticket for our future Speed-Friending events and monthly members only socials, all held at Love Shack in East London.

Members are still welcome to attend this event too, of course! 

What to expect

Psychedelic Speed-Friending is a night of sweet conversation, open to everyone, where you can drop the small talk and ask the questions you REALLY want to ask. We use the word ‘speed’ in the loosest possible sense. Real connection can't be rushed and neither will we!

Taking inspiration from the 36 Questions to Intimacy and The School of Life's '100 Questions', this kind of platonic friend ‘dating’ gives you a menu of profound, intriguing, and spicy questions designed to inspire authenticity and deepen your connection with those around you.

You’ll be guided through playful ice breakers, and into a series of 10 minute conversations with strangers, in groups of 2's and 3's throughout the evening and landing into free flowing socialising.

You’ll leave here with new friends and inspiration for how to guide conversation into juicy and interesting territory.

The night will be hosted by Mags Houston, Co-director and Events Curator for The Psychedelic Society.

We will be meeting at Love Shack, a vegan restaurant and cocktail bar spread over three beautiful exposed brick arches in the heart of Hackney, East London. A variety of delicious food, drinks (including mushroom cacao!) will be available for purchase. 

We kindly ask that you arrive no later than 19:15 so we can begin on time and close the container for deep connection and conversation. If you would like to enjoy some of Love Shack's incredible food, please try to order and eat before or after the event. There will be a short break in the middle for you to grab drinks from the bar. You will have time after the event to socialise freely and continue conversations with the people you've met during the evening.

Mags curates and hosts events for The Psychedelic Society on drug policy, psychedelic science and mental health treatment, as well as more generally growing our incredible community.

Mags’ mission is to shift the mainstream narrative around drugs by helping to provide education and challenging UK drug policy, so that therapies and medicines that are currently not accessible to patients might be made available on the NHS and prescribed to the people who desperately need them. Alongside her work for the Society, Mags is Head of Projects & Communcations at the UK's leading drug policy charity, Drug Science, as well as volunteering for Heroic Hearts Project UK, a not-for-profit organisation that helps veterans suffering with PTSD through psychedelic therapy, retreats and research.

Mags has previous training in Authentic Relating (Level 2), Internal Family Systems and heart-centred tantric communication. She is committed to building communities, bringing people together through open, honest expression.

ACCESS:  We do our best to include everyone in our events, regardless of health circumstances. If you have access requirements please email the event organiser directly to discuss. Many facilitators are able to offer reduced ticket prices for those truly unable to afford the ticket price. If this applies to you, do please get in touch with the event organiser.
