Embody in Body

What does it mean to be in the body?

How can we bring attention to our body in a way that supports our bodies expression of how things are?

Movement, posture and gesture can express our felt sense and be a doorway to discover  the deeper layers of ourselves and our bodies wisdom. We can give expression to parts, or places in us, that might not have so many words yet, bringing more of us into connection, understanding and the experience of being felt.

Exploring Focusing with the Body and Movement

In this series of six workshops, we explore how we can use the practise of Focusing, a form if embodied listening, developed by Eugene Gendlin, together with movement, posture and gesture. Together we will explore how it is to bring the body and movement to the forefront of our practise.

This group is open to those with experience of Focusing and those new to the practise. the group is for anyone with an interest in working with the body in a gentle and respectful way.

Facilitators:

Mareike Ringena and Gwen Williams are both Focusing Practitioners and Dance Movement Psychotherapists. They have been exploring in-cooperating Focusing in their own movement practises and movement therapy work and are passionate about finding ways to work with the body that are compassionate and support integration and wholeness.

We will be a small, closed group, who will journey together over the course of the six sessions. If this is an issue, or if you have any questions or particular needs you wish to discuss, please email us.

Location:

We will be holding the sessions in a converted barn at a beautiful community farm in BS16.
