Intimacy Jam

Intimacy Jams are opportunities to enjoy connection and community without complexity. You are welcome to come as you are, and be warmly received. Every time, the unique mix of participants co-creates exactly the experience they need.

After two years of evening events, this is our first Intimacy Jam taking place in the afternoon! Coming back from the winter holidays, we can softly land together and gather on a cozy Sunday afternoon.

We begin with a welcome circle to open the container and set expectations for the evening. Next, a series of connection and communication games help us arrive in the space and in our bodies, and quickly get to know each other better! We learn and practice consent and communication skills in a safe, structured environment. We also get to enjoy the sensations and experiences of physical touch! Very quickly, this mixed group of people drops in with each other to trust each other and enjoy connection.

Next, we break bread together, sharing a snack and enjoying casual socialising around food.

Finally, there's the free flow jam part of the Intimacy Jam. Many different forms of platonic intimacy are welcome during the jam with the group, in pairs, and on your own. A central “cuddle puddle” space invites a communal experience for the collecitve. We often see a mix of massage, cuddling, hand holding, dance, sensory experiences, eye gazing, gentle authentic conversation, poetry reading, and more! Your curiosity, creativity and desires are welcome!

Caring for consent is required at all times. Everything is an invitation. “Noes” and taking space are warmly welcomed!  People of all genders are welcome to connect and jam with each other. The entire experience is clothed and non-sexual. Safety and comfort are the priority.

Safer Space

We are committed to creating the safest environments we can. Our events are trauma aware. If you have any specific safety or wellbeing needs, please let us know in advance. If you experience anything that feels unsafe, or know about someone in attendance who has caused harm to others, we want to know! Please share your concerns with us.

We stand with survivors. Some participants have a history of relational or touch-based trauma that they are working on healing at these events.

We also support personal growth. Where possible, we want to support individuals with a history of causing harm who are actively working to improve their behaviours. We can work together to establish clear boundaries and expectations in the space. Individuals who cause harm and/or take no accountability are not welcome at these events.

Please do communicate about any safety and safeguarding issues! We value and welcome clear, honest communication.

Accessibility and Inclusion

The Gasworks Studio has a single step at the front door, and step-free access through the back. There is an accessible toilet. All activities are adaptible to different access needs: the instructions themselves are flexible, there is a culture of participating in ways that work for you, and participants are very open to accomodating each others' needs.

A large portion of participants are neurodiverse. The clarity and structure in this environment works well for many flavours of neurospiciness.

People of any ethnicity, cultural background, class, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, relationship structure, body type, physical ability, neurodiversity etc. are welcome at Intimacy Jams! Let's be human together.

Reviews:

“Treasure’s facilitation opens up presence and connection possibilities without creating pressure to do or be anything. Events gently but quickly become a space where people meeting for the first time can co-create interactions that would be extraordinary in everyday settings.” - Simon

“I absolutely loved this event. Renaming it from Cuddle Party to Intimacy Jam truly shifted the focus, allowing for a broader exploration of intimacy beyond just cuddling. Exploration through dance, play, heartsharing and eye gazing brought a whole new dimension to the experience. A very rich experience, highly recommended.” - Alec

“The new style Intimacy Jam on Tuesday was wonderful. Best ever I think! I felt amazing afterwards- deeply nourished on so many levels. Thank you to you and everyone there. 🙏” -Kamla

“The gentle energy and beautiful souls there made it extra special. Thank you Treasure for a lovely evening.” -Nics
