Welcome to the Museum of Consciousness
After 20 sold-out shows across the world and numerous festival appearances, the Museum of Consciousness comes back for its second edition in Cairo, Egypt.
Seven artists will perform at the famous Biogeometry institute in Cairo https://www.biogeometry.ca/home on the 3rd of April.
The challenge to these artists is to produce a reliable and measurable Altered State of Consciousness in a live audience, just with sound.
The Museum of Consciousness features short, audio-based transmissions that induce expansive states of consciousness, stimulating various subjective experiences, including thought experiments, sound journeys, and dream incubations. It is a living embodiment of the collective consciousness with over 100 artists, including Orbital, Jon Hopkins, Lisa Lashes, Tom Middleton and Alexandre Tannous.
The museum follows a cyclical structure designed to act as an engine for creative regeneration between the artist and the audience, thereby empowering both in equal measure:
1. Transmission - The artists TRANSMIT their sample/artwork to the audience.
2. Integration - The artists then help INTEGRATE their transmission with a mini lecture which explains the piece in depth and their work generally after the deep listening is concluded.
3. Feedback - where the audience directly COMMUNICATES their thoughts and feelings back to the artist, in order to help the artist learn and potentially iterate on their piece.

Ebe Oke
Title: AVALON: Night
Description: AVALON navigates a dual-phase sonic landscape, tracing the movement from day to night in a metaphorical forest. The album incorporates processed bird and insect sounds, including those from numerous endangered and extinct species, transformed and abstracted from the familiar into unknown lifeforms voicing an imaginary biophony. Utilizing techniques such as tape manipulation and the Seaboard synthesizer, which enables real-time pitch bending and shaping, AVALON blends traditional and contemporary technologies to create a tactile and immersive experience that unites the organic with the synthetic. Inspired by the mythological utopia, the album represents the conclusion of one cycle and the emergence of a new beginning. Originally commissioned by Fredrickson Stallard, this composition accompanies an audio-visual installation within a private collection.
Biography: Ebe Oke is a composer and multimedia artist whose practice spans sound, performance, and visual art. Drawing on patterns from nature, Ebe reveals ecologies beyond human-centered perspectives. Their upbringing in an exotic bird sanctuary in South Georgia (US) informs a body of work that questions belonging, access, and identity. Largely self-taught, Ebe’s practice has evolved through a bespoke education, including composition lessons with Karlheinz Stockhausen, and mentorships and collaborations with artists such as AA Bronson, Brian Eno, and Laurie Anderson. Ebe’s work has been presented internationally at venues including Tate St Ives, the Serpentine Gallery in London, The Kitchen and Pioneer Works in New York, Punkt Festival in Norway, Art Basel in Switzerland, and most recently, Dommune in Tokyo. Title: Hypnotic Sound Journey
Description:
The Hypnotic Sound Journey is an invitation to expand the mind and embark on a profound inner voyage. The Hypnotic Sound Journey was formed by Sophie Adler and Georg Stuby in 2020 and has provided a sanctuary at festivals and events across Europe—offering a space to step away from the external noise, reconnect with oneself, and replenish energy. As you listen to the music and words, you can unplug from everyday thoughts and allow your body, mind, and soul to relax deeply. In this state between sleep and dream, the mind opens fully to new insights and ideas. What answers may reveal themselves to you? The sound transmission supports this process, guiding participants into deep states of awareness and transformation. Former participants have described journeys through space, visions of their own souls, and the rediscovery of their inner light. After bringing these immersive experiences to numerous festivals across Europe Sophie now brings this performance to Egypt following three experiential days within 7 private permissions, taking the journey even further—into an ancient portal of transformation and rebirth. Here begins a voyage through hidden chambers of consciousness, carried by ethereal sounds, frequencies, and hypnotic guidance. Boundaries dissolve, the mind expands, and participants enter a safe realm beyond time and space. For this event, Sophie collaborates with musician Moritz Federlein, with whom she has produced the sound in Berlin specifically for this experience in Egypt. The Hypnotic Sound Journey is more than just a sonic experience—it is an initiation, a key to hidden knowledge, and a return to one’s origin.
Biography:
Sophie-Charlotte Adler, M.Sc., is a psychologist, hypnotherapist, and psychotherapist in training, as well as the author of the book "Altered States of Consciousness – New Paths in Psychotherapy? The Potential of the Psychoactive Substance Psilocybin", published in German by Carl-Auer Verlag. Her work focuses on altered states of consciousness, particularly through Ketamine-Assisted Hypnotherapy (KAH), which she developed in 2018. She practices KAH in Germany and leads psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands. In addition to her psychotherapeutic practice, she offers professional KAH training and supervision for practitioners and supports the therapeutic integration of extraordinary consciousness experiences. Through the Hypnotic Sound Journey, she brings her expertise in trance states and her passion for music into the realm of collective consciousness exploration. By merging hypnotic guidance with healing sound frequencies, she creates a space for deep transformation and self-discovery.
Moritz Federlein is an artist who bridges live electronic music with design and technology. His work in the German club scene—shaped by his roles at Echt Optimal Records in Munich and various labels like Emi/Virgin Records—fostered an appreciation for sound’s transformative power and cross-genre connections, exposing him to influences like Sun Ra, Raymond Scott, Delia Derbyshire, up to Aphex Twin. While immersed in music, Federlein pursued design studies and earned a diploma as a product designer. His diploma project, Frozen Sounds, explored the translation of sound into visual forms and evolved into proprietary software that generates CAD data for innovative surfaces with acoustic properties. His studies with Christina Kubisch deepened his engagement with electroacoustic and early electronic music, drawing inspiration from pioneers such as Xenakis, Pierre Henry, and Schaeffer. Surrealich (Charlie)
Title: Sensa “to hear is to be stung, to listen is to surrender”
Description: Where perception unravels and listening becomes creation. Time folds, space wavers, sound hums beneath the surface. A vessel, open and resonant, yet empty without you. Here, at the threshold between perception and illusion, sound is not merely heard—it inhabits you, resonates within your body, transforms within your ear itself. Sonic recollections flicker—biophony, geophony, anthropophony—all interwoven through the unseen distortions of otoacoustic emissions.Inspired by Samawimbi—the wave of time—Sensa dissolves the borders between past and future, creating a liminal space where the act of listening becomes an act of creation. The inner ear is not a passive receiver but an instrument awaiting activation, a philosophy drawn from the pioneering work of Maryanne Amacher and the acoustic theories of Hermann Helmholtz. A presence lingers in this space, patient and still. It does not act. Not yet. Because Sensa is a dialogue you have already chosen by entering in, but what unfolds next emerges from your surrender to listening. The ear deceived, the room alive, sound becomes the sting and you the venom. In MOC Cairo, the project Sensa will be introduced through a pre-recorded composition, for the first time, giving birth to a black hole, awaiting for its discoveries.
Biography: Surrealich is the itch before emergence, the tension before form. A morphing vessel that unfolds across multimedia dimensions simultaneously, merging time, space, sensation, and perception into a singular resonant experience. Activating the threshold between sound and sensation. Through deliberate sonic interventions, it crafts experiences that reverberate through both physical space and internal landscapes. In the charged space between stimulus and reaction, between sound and perception, Surrealich cultivates a realm where transformation is not merely possible but inevitable. Within this liminal space, the body transforms into a resonant archive—a living repository of vibration and memory. Here, listening becomes a devoted act, allowing oneself to be stung by existence itself. It is a practice of surrender and acceptance where the self dissolves into vibration, into waves of time, into the sonic landscapes that shape us and we shape them.
