An emergent, work-in-progress, devised show, blending elements of storytelling and physical theatre.
An exploration of personal and collective stories, stereotypes and archetypes performed by 7 local women.
Asking:
What’s it like to be born in a woman’s body?
What are the messages of the patriarchal conditioning passed down to us?
What story do we want to tell?
What deep archetypal powers lie within us?
How can they touch this troubled world?
Stories of overcoming oppression, finding self-love and awakening to our witchy self; of our father-legacies; lost innocence, healing distorted sexuality and reclaiming the reverence of CXNT.
A celebration of Woman.
Our work is theatre as a healing ritual, that is artistically crafted, digestible and includes humour.
However TRIGGER WARNING:
This performance contains real life women’s experiences including sexual violation. As part of this work we bring out to light what’s in the shadow for witnessing.
Our aim is to create redemption of these difficult experiences and include an alternative story. But some of the themes might touch unresolved stories in you. We welcome your feelings, provide space to digest after the performance and give signposting to relevant organisations.
