Welcome to Portal: Journey through the Midnight Garden
An immersive experience of darkness and light, where the mysteries and silence of the witching hour come alive, where we gather and celebrate around the communal fire.

STEP INTO A WORLD of twilight and wonder as we gather in the moments before the Winter Solstice, in the heart of the darkest season of the year. Portal: Midnight Garden invites you to explore a magical space where the boundaries between light and shadow blur, and ancient mysteries stir in the silence of the night. A land where the flickering candle light guides our way, where your inner world can quest out into the mysteries of the darkness. This immersive experience will take you on a journey through the depths of winter’s sacred pause, as we honour the transition from darkness to light. 

WHAT TO EXPECT: DANCING AND MOVEMENT! We celebrate all individuals and their unique expressions and gifts. This is a judgment free space where we are free to be ourselves, let our hair down and explore the boundaries of our self expression. We will do this in a group context where your fellow dancers become your community. This is an invitation to reconnect with your tribe as PORTAL is known for bringing people together and sparking deep, authentic and beautiful connections. If you need a quiet moment of contemplation and craft, you can come to our ART STATION to create reflections of your inner world. 

At Breakout Cafe, we’ll gather in warmth, community, and reverence for the turning of the wheel, sharing in the magic of this liminal time before the return of the sun. Baked potatoes and cheese toasties at hand to nourish your bellies, cash and card accepted. Accessibility is at the top of a flight of stairs. Join SECRET LOWLANDS and SAMULEE, our resident magical music curators, as they lead us on an exploration of movement and feeling. This time they are crafting the most exquisite journey, a fairytale of dark midnight hour to the dawning of the new day. This will be a real journey of quiet winter closeness and ecstatic celebration summoning the coming light.

18:00 ARRIVE to be greeted and get settled into our beautiful venue for the evening.

18:30 DOORS CLOSE no admittance after this. 

18:30 The evening starts with connection games to meet your journey companions before we enter the PORTAL together with a ritual

19:15 DJ sets from Samulee and secret lowlands

22:15 we finish with a grounding MEDITATION, renewed and rejuvenated for the onwards journey.
