Contemporary Dance Technique & Contact Improvisation
For Adults Seeking Connection, Growth, and Movement Exploration
This school offers a joyful and grounded space to deepen your relationship with movement, your body, and yourself. The classes focus on movement practice, developing dance vocabulary, and fostering authentic expression.
During this more intensive dance program we will train and develop our relationship to research and study of CI and contemporary dance skills.
About the Classes:
- Closed Group Format: Participants commit to the full 12-week block, building trust and shared experience to grow and develop together.
- No Drop-In Sessions: This ensures a dedicated and cohesive group experience.
- Payment: £250 for 12 classes. Payment can be made in installments but must be completed in full.
Schedule:
- When: Friday Mornings, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Duration: 12 Weeks
- First Block: February 21st - May 9th
- Location: Moor Imagination Centre, Buckfastleigh
This extended block includes:
- Guest teachers sharing their practices on 4 occasions.
- The creation of a collective artistic project to be performed and/or filmed at the end of the 12 weeks
About Harriet:
Harriet is a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Contact Improvisation and contemporary dance, with over a decade of experience in both practice and instruction. Known for her playful, practical, and poetic teaching style, Harriet welcomes dancers of all levels to explore connection, creativity, and movement expression.
Her sessions provide:
- Clear tools to expand movement vocabulary.
- Opportunities for solo exploration and Contact Improvisation.
- A creative, supportive environment to encourage artistic and somatic growth.
Harriet also curates international workshops and events, drawing from her extensive training in contemporary dance, somatic practices, and hands-on therapies.
