Join us for a captivating cinematic journey in our upcoming psychedelic movie night, where we’ll be screening "The Last Shaman" - a gripping tale of healing, shamanism, and redemption, followed by a stimulating discussion.

Directed by Raz Degan, The Last Shaman is the story of James Freeman, a young man who decides to take matters into his own hands when faced with incurable depression. He undergoes a life-changing journey in the Amazon jungle that brings him a deeper understanding and acceptance of self. Along the way, he experiences the healing properties of the tribal plant medicine Ayahuasca and the world around it.

Once the screening has finished, there will be a discussion to share perspectives on and thoughts about the movie and its key themes. Some of the themes we may touch on include shamanic healing and the failures of allopathic medicine, “ayahuasca tourism,” indigenous reciprocity, and journeys of self-discovery and awareness.

The screening will take place in the Gasworks studio. With a living room-style layout, you can sit down or lie down with a blanket and cup of tea at hand for an ultra-cozy screening experience.

This is a non-profit community event. Our intention is to create a space for like-minded individuals who are curious about consciousness and the power of psychedelics to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another.

Movie trailer and reviews

A fabulous event with excellent organization and so many like-minded people! There wasn’t a single moment or program I didn’t enjoy—in fact, I loved all of them. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Carly B, who was everywhere and has put in so much effort to hold the space and ensure everything ran smoothly.
