Wild Nature Walk for Activists & Tender Hearts
A Spring walk in the heart of Bodmin Moor.
A special time of year where we hope to hear the Cuckoos calling and the meet the new Spring plants.

Who is it for?
For folks who deeply care about the ongoing genocides, climate change, ecocide, social justice and have been actively witnessing / campaigning / advocating / holding in whatever way to connect and replenish in the wild.
You might be feeling:
heavy, burning out, overwhelmed, exhausted, isolated. All emotions welcome.
You might be needing:
space, connection with like minded people, community.
✨STEP OUT INTO NATURE, TAKE A BREATH, LET THE LAND HOLD YOU FOR A TIME✨

What to expect:
- A small group of up to 7
- Gentle wonder on the moors with some uphill rocky parts led by Rebecca, a qualified walking leader, outdoors first aider and qualified nurse. Lots of stops to be present with each other and the land.
- Supportive, non-judgemental space
- Coming away feeling deeply resourced, replenished, connected, grounded, less alone, inspired, motivated.
An invitation to join the Wild & Tender Hearts Signal group after for us to stay connected and build supportive community. Here we share ideas, plan actions and just stay in touch. We are also meet monthly on zoom to further support each other and ideally plan actions going forwards. This is not a monetised community or membership, just folks coming together who care.
If you are feeling called to this but not sure it's for you, please feel free to reach out.
Some common reservations might be:
feeling like your "activism" isn't enough (we all feel that & it shows how much we care)
struggling with even identifying as an activist & that whole concept (me too but I am definitely a tender heart )
worried about being in a group & being judged (please read words by Mia below)
nerves
Everyone who has come has admitted having those reservations & nearly pulled out but felt so glad they trusted the call and came.

If you care about the polycrisis, this is for you.
If your struggling with it all, this is for you.
If your yearning to be in community with others amongst it all, this is for you.
If you love nature and wild places, this is for you.
As well as building community and fostering collective care, these walks aim to also raise mutual aid funds for the people of Palestine, Sudan and Congo and other initiatives. So far, from these walks we have raised £300 for families in Gaza and £75 for the Sudanese American Physicians Fund.
Tickets are offered on a donate what you can basis, allowing you to be as generous as you are able whilst also ensuring there are no financial barriers to attending.
Funds from this walk will be raising mutual aid for a Just Giving campaign aiming to raise £800 ($1000) towards a new tent for Khalil's family in Gaza who is a friend of Mia. Tents cost at least $1500 dollars and Khalil has already raised $500 separately. Their current tent is unstable and not weatherproof against the rains they have been getting. This was the cost of a tent before the ‘ceasefire’ was violated so the costs have gone up. Please donate as much as you can.
Receipts of the total amount raised from this walk will be provided for transparency.

Testimonial
Words from Mia after joining her first Wild Nature Walk for Activists & Tender Hearts on Bodmin Moor last year:
""I was experiencing burnout , hopelessness and disengagement with the causes I deeply care about, and I knew I wanted to connect with others. I'm so glad I set aside my timid hesitations and showed up to the wild nature walk for activists and tender hearts on Bodmin Moor; it was just what I needed.
Getting together with a group of like-minded people reinvigorated me and gave a sense of solidarity. The women in the group felt more like old friends that those I'd just met, and there was NO judgement. The freedom in nature that Rebecca facilitates gives those attending, the space to breathe and unload. It was magical and I can't wait to do another one. I would highly recommend joining a walk if you are engaged in humanitarian/world crisis at ANY level and want to feel less alone, because you're not".
Exact meeting point and further details given in an email after signing up.
There is no public transport to our meeting point. If you would like to attend and do not drive there is capacity for me to pick 2 people up in my van from Liskeard train station. I would need £6 each to help cover my fuel costs. Please let me know. You would need to be at Liskeard station at 09:50 latest.
