R(E)volutionary Medicine aims to actively challenge, shake down, stir, vivifiy, electrify the language we use in spiritual/concioussness/transformatory communities and spaces, in how we meet ourselves, each other, and the world.

Religion, for thousands of years, has used key scripts, key parcels of language and code to imprison, influence, and sway the actions and behaviour of generations of humans, and to enlock within words, people’s relationship with all of creation.

For the last hundred or so years, especially in the west, our old religions have begun to decay and to be replaced by both secular thought, and new spiritual ideas and forms of language. The new age, as it has been coined, has sprouted a multiplicity of new forms, creations, and pockets of culture. 

Much like a petri-dish in the soup between civilisations, we are experimenting with structure, freedom, form, and formlessness, and naturally language shapes our relationship with it all, both with how we relate with our own bodies, each other and the world.

If we are moving towards a new age, a new way of being as humanity, we need a new language that adequetley supports the world we are wanting to create, especially surrounding our relationship with God, spirit, soul, self, creation and cosmos. 

For language has been the main tool of thousands and thousands of years of oppression, colonisation, the eviserstion of our connection with our ancientness, earth, and the subsequent civilisation we now have, that has been causily directly out of this cut. 

And we must, now, in the empty, chaotic, collapsed space we have been presented with engage with how we use language as we have never done so before, because language is and will be the human fascia that connects us more closely together or unspools us further apart.

In much, of the emergent spiritualities that are currently at play, I see this as considerably lacking. Where there should be a greater ensoulment, ensoilment, vivification, electrification, musicality of language, there is instead dogma, ideology, the common use of spiritual language and pop psychology vernacular as the main threshold to meeting one another and the world. While we have learnt to meet anima and soul in silent mediation or on the dance floor, when it comes to how our tongues dance with the breath of life, and touch one another as medicine, as holy fire, as prayer.

It is almost as if language has become an afterthought, something functional, redacted, inane. 

If you look back, there is a good, and understandable reason for this. That we, the people of the west, have had the fire, soil and lightening stripped from our tongues and our ability to use language in a way that lives orally inside of us, has been lost so long ago, that not even our ancestors remember.

And yet, language, like a neurological pathway under a moss covered forest can be re-stimulated, re-learned, re-boned, remembered, re-enchanted.

So what do we do?

Well. We steal an hour from the future, and we burn all the books, of the scripts and linguistic codes of our old religions, has Catholicism, and yes, new age spiritual scripts, so that history, begins with us.

So that each time we utter sound history begins again with the sound of that moment.

What R(E)volutionary Medicine attempts to do, is to meet, challenge and work with key pieces of language, thought, script and form, in order for all of us to be able to access words, voice, sound, that is ensouled, ensoiled, vivified and electrified.

R(E)volutionary medicine aims to change this, to bring a poet’s pen and an experimental theologian’s lens to bear, on working with language used in spiritual spaces, to challenge and update it.
