The Dance of Shadow & Light
Join us for an evening of live storytelling that delves into the timeless dance between light and shadow. Hosted by storytellers Samantha Rose and Kary Stewart, this gathering offers a unique opportunity to hear from four storytellers, each sharing original stories crafted just for this night, as well as a musical guest.
Samantha, a storyteller by lineage and lifelong practice, has guided countless others in the art of storytelling. Kary, her former student in the Sacred Storytelling Apprenticeship, is now stepping into her own, having recently shared stories on stage at Glastonbury Festival. Both Samantha and Kary are ceremonial space holders, dedicated to honouring stories of the past and present and reconnecting us to our elemental nature.
We warmly invite you to join us for our inaugural event as we weave together stories of light and shadow, reminding us that to fully embrace our own light, we must also befriend the spaces in between.
Storytellers on the night
Valentina: Has dedicated her adult life in training in psychology & psychotherapy and people’s stories have always been her passion. Back in 2019 she had a life changing experience in the simplicity of sitting around the fire under the stars listening to a story. Those would become integral part of her life, becoming a fire keeper a few years later and then an apprentice storyteller with Samantha Rose, who she also met around the fire. She is now deeply practicing the art of Sacred Storytelling and about to graduate from the apprenticeship.
Kit: I read myth, legend, folk and fairy tales, as a child and never really grew out of my love of story.. and after years of reading and gathering, I now write my own. In recent years this has also been influenced by shamanic medicine stories and creation myths from around the world.
Kary Stewart: Peruvian by birth and British by upbringing I began to return more regularly to the motherland about 15 years ago. In the myths and creation tales of indigenous wisdom holders of Latin America, and in the call of nature, I found truths forgotten by many. These experiences and my work as a Kundalini teacher, have inspired me to tell stories that bridge cultures and spark remembrance of our true natures.
Samantha Rose: Rooted in a lineage of storytelling from her mother and great-grandmother, Samantha has refined her craft under the guidance of renowned storytellers Martin Shaw and David Novak. For the past 10 years, Samantha has performed at festivals, in boardrooms, classrooms, and around fires. She is deeply inspired by how stories can lead us back to a profound connection with an animate earth.
