The Psychedelic Society is proud to present the UK Online Exclusive screening of the award winning ‘Chasing the Present’ followed by an immersive panel including the protagonist/producer, the director and special guests soon to be announced. 

The film depicts a materially successful young man, riddled with anxiety who embarks on a world-wide journey of self-inquiry. From the streets of NY, to the stillness of the Ganges, and deep into the jungles of Peru, he immerses himself in meditation, self-inquiry, and plant medicine whilst conversing with top experts like Russell Brand, Marina Abramovic, Alex Grey, Graham Hancock, Rupert Spira, Joseph Goldstein and more to find the root cause of the problem and learn how to finally find freedom from his crippling anxiety.

Panelists include:

Françoise Bourzat is an expert on the traditional use of mushrooms, a trainer of psychedelic guides, and author of the book “Consciousness Medicine”  Françoise pursued personal healing and growth through guided explorations with entheogens from 1987 onward and apprenticed under the masterful guidance of medicine men and women. She continues to explore the path of sacred plants healing through my travels abroad as a guide as well as a student.  After earning a Masters Degree in Somatic Psychology unifying touch, movement, expressive arts and mindfulness (New College of California, 1990), she received her certification as a Hakomi Mind/Body Therapist in 1991 from the Hakomi Institute of San Francisco.

Dr Patti Levin  is a former lecturer at Harvard Medical school and a clinical psychologist with over 45 years of experience in the field. She worked with adults, both individual and couples, and treated anxiety disorders, relationship problems, panic and phobia, self esteem, performance enhancement, and many other issues. She used an eclectic, integrative approach, including Internal Family Systems and is an expert in EMDR therapy.   A former senior supervisor at the Trauma Center in Boston for over 20 years, she has lectured, taught and published internationally. Dr. Levin retired from private practice in June 2015. Since then her focus has shifted to helping others awaken to their true nature and work as a research scientist at the Centre for Nonsymbolic Consciousness. 

Stefanie Dunning is an author, a professor of English literature at Miami University and a long time meditator. She began practicing Vipassana meditation in 1997 and has been involved in contemplative communities ever since. Teaching a method she calls "Unprovoked Happiness," which incorporates elements of Actualism and Buddhism, she has taught in both seminar form and in individual consultations for the Finder's Course.
