A safe space for to explore your voice and the art of conscious vocal sounding, free from any musical judgment or expectation.

Stefano Sgarbi, facilitator of our online workshops Playing The Voice will be travelling to London to run his Conscious Voicing Jam in person!

The power of the voice is undeniable. A study in 2000 showed that even after a short singing session, levels of Immunoglobulin A (an antibody) significantly increase with the human body. Explore how your voice can empower and heal, within a safe space  dedicated art of conscious vocal sounding, free from any musical judgment or expectation.

After the voicing jam we will have time for socialising and drinking delicious herbal tea.

Voicing freely in a relaxed and encouraging setting is a powerful  healing experience with many benefits such as:

  • Clearing the mind and supporting a meditative state
  • Oxygenating the body
  • Emotional release & clearing of energetic blockages
  • Opening the heart
  • Supporting self-love and acceptance
  • Building self-confidence and capacity for self-expression
  • Deepening your engagement with the nature of sound and silence
  • Transcending your ordinary perception of reality & opening up to a new understanding of the vibrational quality of all of existence.

The session will have the following structure:

  • Intro — a short guided grounding practice and vocal warm up
  • Jam — free voicing (no chatting or talking)
  • Sharing circle
  • Tea + Socialising

Anyone is free to join, no background needed, voicing is encouraged but not mandatory, we only ask for a respectful and sensitive presence.

Preparation for the session:

  • Arrive early to the space. Door opens at 6:30pm. No entry after 6:50pm!
  • Bring water
  • We have blankets, yoga mats and meditation pillows available at the venue

YOUR FACILITATOR

Stefano Sgarbi is a uniquely talented musician, producer and workshop leader. His love of art and music evolved into a passion more specifically for electronic music and sound therapy, leading him to study electroacoustic composition at the prestigious Institute of Sonology (Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, Netherlands). A personal journey of self-discovery and studies of practises such as tai-chi, yoga, alternative singing techniques (e.g. overtone/throat singing) and didjeridoo has led to Stefano his own therapeutic and meditative practice for guided and mindful use of the voice and body. His ongoing research, as well as his ambition to continue to grow his techniques, brings him to many festivals across Europe, including MoDem, Shankra and Psy-Fi, demonstrating and guiding others in these innovative methods. As well as being a sound therapist and workshop leader, Stefano is known for his music project Sun Anga, collaborating with many international musicians and performers and is part of the Anthropos Festival community.

REVIEWS

I found the practices freeing and restorative - a really lovely way to explore/be/connect through sound!

A beautiful practice! I felt a deep connection with my voice, grounding and energy rising.

Fun session! Really helpful to get me over my blockage/fear of singing. Stefano was great and it made it a safe space to play around with voice. Spurred me to spend another 30 min after the session singing along to loads of songs, which was exactly what I was hoping to achieve.

I joined this course because I have trouble communicating. Firstly, this course deepened my understanding of the sounds/vibrations of my voice to improve the quality of any mantra I may use. But most importantly during the exploration of my voice old wounds have been exposed for me to now heal.

What a delicious experience! So novel and liberating to be able to just make any sort of vocal sound in the company of other people doing the same. And surprisingly intimate too - how we each sound reflects how we feel and then we can hear how other people feel and we can react to that, try to harmonise, make space for it, reinforce it, whatever. And the whole time we were all co-creating this magical sound. The world needs more of this!

I went in expecting nothing for the event and was pleasantly surprised how good it made me feel once I left my anxieties and judgments at the door. Stefano made the group feel comfortable and never felt like anything was rushed. Was quite emotional for me surprisingly but a lovely container was built so it was lovely experience.

Talullah is a gifted facilitator. The workshop had lots of really practical tips. It blended playful interaction while the participants were invited to express and witness their inner emotional journey during the process. As a hypnotherapist, I often help people with self-esteem, so I love her song 'I am enough'. To actually sing the words is powerful medicine and therapy, so I fully recommend anyone to experience this.
