MEMORY PLAY (live)

Immersive Ritual Techno

Ableton Live techno journey using instruments and vocals.
Deep and melodic trance-state bass music accompanied by immersive club lighting and live performance.

Memory Play, the alias and alter ego of Josef Kašpar, was conceived 7 years ago, following a traumatic ayahuasca ceremony. On stage they create an immersive and ritualistic performance art piece that fuses dark, experimental and organic sounds with driving beats and guttural vocals. A high-octane and visceral performer, Memory Play’s live sets push their machines and audience to breaking point. Their roots sprung from Bristol’s techno scene but their production and performance pushes well beyond the boundaries of the genre and into exciting and unmapped territory.

Kašpar is the co-founder and resident of Bristol’s much cherished Dialogue. These nights have carved out a niche in the Bristol scene, creating an ethos of queer-friendly spaces and diverse, forward thinking line-ups.

After several years writing and performing as one half of ASTRYD, Kašpar’s new project sees them turn towards more personal, intimate and conceptual explorations. Honed during a three-month writing residency and a series of explosive live performances across Japan in 2022, they were quickly picked up by esteemed label Control Freak. A high-octane and visceral performer, Memory Play’s live sets push their machines to breaking point.

In September 2023, following a second Japan tour, a string of European dates including Berlin, London’s FOLD (alongside heavyweights Rødhad and Rrose), and Waking Life Festival in Portugal, Memory Play released their second EP on vinyl (with support from Marcel Dettmann, Anastasia Kristensen and Daniel Avery). Having recently returned from a Colombian tour, Memory Play is in the studio completing their debut album, set for release in 2025.

INANNA

Garage, Rave, Bass & Invocation

Inanna blends a smooth fusion of underground bass, house and devotional music, igniting sweaty, transformative dance floors with her voice and music. Inanna made waves as one of the first handful of woman DJs at a time when feminine representation in the scene was rare.

Inanna’s sound rests on fluid rhythm, where atmospheric enchantment and expansive moods, craft emotionally grounded, melodically rich soundscapes. Her mix of broken beats, deep bass and soul-dripping house is sophisticated and surreal. Whether through hypnotic, dreamy recorded mixes or high-energy late-night sets, she crafts dance floor journeys that feel intimate and inclusive. Places where groove and feeling come first, bridging underground sound with a deeper sense of presence and connection.

Inanna brings 30 years of practice and 15 years of teaching to create immersive Kundalini and Yin Yoga experiences supported by original devotional music she writes, sings and produces, weaving mantra and sound to deepen and elevate the practice. In 2014 she released her first album and has released several singles under the moniker Sat Avtar. Largely self produced, she has recorded with notable international musicians AWARE and other Grammy nominated musicians.

SAFE(R) SPACE, SAFEGAURDING & INCLUSIVITY

Intro

Please note, our Safe(r) Space Agreement, Safeguarding and Inclusivity policies apply to everyone present at our experiences. All participants, all team members, all facilitators, all artists and all venue staff. Anyone found to be breaching our Safe(r) Space Agreement will be asked to leave immediately.

By attending this experience you agree to respect and follow our Safe(r) Space Agreement (found below). These agreements indicate the behaviour that is acceptable and must be followed. They are put in place to ensure that everyone feels safe and welcome at our experiences. The

By attending this experience you are doing so because you want to expand your innerstanding of yourself, challenge your prejudice and connect with other like minded people.

Please take full responsibility for your own experience, remain open minded and creatively curious, reach beyond the edges of your comfort zone, and always ask for consent.

Our agreements create a safe(r) space to be expressive and intimate, and at the same time, ensure that everyone remains respectful of each other. Thus creating a more collaborative, trusting and respectful environment and community.

Safe(r) Space Agreement

  • You are responsible for yourself, your wellbeing and your belongings
  • You are responsible for your own experience and interactions with others
  • You agree to be mindful, respectful and aware of yourself and others
  • You agree to respect other people's boundaries and ensure you give as much space as other people require
  • You agree to be consensual - unless it's a 100% YES, everything else must be considered a NO
  • People can change their mind, therefore remember that a YES can always turn into a NO and this must be respected every time
  • You agree that you are able to say YES and NO in an appropriate, clear and respectful way
  • You agree to use clear direct verbal communication where you feel confident in expressing your boundaries, expectations and desires
  • You agree to maintain confidentiality and not disclose anyone's stories or experiences
  • If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable for any reason, please speak to a Welfare Angel, Steward, Security Guard or any Team Member immediately

Inclusivity

All people are welcome at this experience. We welcome people of all sexual orientations, racial identities/ethnicities, gender expressions, abilities, body types and ages.

We are a community that is queer friendly, body positive and we welcome different forms of expression. We have zero tolerance towards racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, body shaming, ageism, ableism or discrimination of any kind whatsoever. Do not make derogatory comments or jokes on others.

Consent

If there is someone that makes you feel uncomfortable, for ANY reason, then you should let them know. You do not owe somebody attention nor do you owe them your time or energy.

If you are not interested or do not have the capacity to engage with another or others, you are completely within your right to say so. This includes another person who touches without asking, comes on too strongly, says an offensive comment or simply does not making you feel welcome or comfortable.

Unless it's an absolutely enthusiastic YES, everything else must be considered as a NO. People can change their mind, therefore remember that a YES can always change to a NO and that must be respected every time.

Whilst an interaction between others may happen in front of you, it does not mean you are entitled to join.

Do not coerce or pressure others to interact with you. If you have received a NO, don’t take it personally. We invite you to thank the other person for clearly expressing their boundaries, by saying something along the lines of, “Thank you for taking care of yourself.”

Team

We have an incredible team on hand - Welfare Angels, Stewards, Security Guards and an Experience Manager. They'll be wearing either ID badges, high-vis jackets or pink high-vis body bands. They are available during the whole experience if you have any concerns, need support with anything or if you want to chat. We are here to listen and support.

The Welfare Angels will be roaming the event from start to finish. The Welfare Angels wear a pink high-vis body band so you can distinguish who they are.

If you see any footage of yourself on social media and want it removed, please message us directly (on social media or via email) and we’ll do so immediately.

Thank you for your cooperation 🙏

We look forward to welcoming you🤗
