Ceremonial Breathwork - For Samhain
Halloween originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, this is an ancient fire festival that marks the end of the Celtic year.
A powerful time of year as we begin our decent into the the dark months of winter. A time for reflection, It calls us to ask us what is dying in our own lives, what are we ready to let go of. It is said that at Samhain the veil between worlds is at its thinnest, it is a portal time allowing access the otherworld. A time to journey deep into the void and communicate with the spirit world. A time to give thanks to the past, to the ancestors and all who have gone before us.
The breath is our gift that connects us to all the cycles of life, from the first breath we took as we entered this world to the last one we will take as we leave.
This will be a special ceremonial breath session honouring Lammas. We will begin with a simple shamanic Qigong Form to open the directions connecting to the elements within our bodies (earth, water, fire, air). And we will finish with a fire ceremony where we can intentionally let go of whatever we no longer need.
In these sessions we will use a simple breathing technique know as conscious connected breathing, this activates the nervous system and helps create new neural pathways in the brain. When we breathe in this pattern, we begin to enter into an altered state of consciousness which allows us to release stored emotions and trauma in both the physical and energetic body.
What to expect?
- We will begin with an opening breath awareness meditation to help you reconnect with your body and breath followed by a Shamanic Qigong practice to open the directions.
- I will then explain the technique, so we all know what to expect.
- Then lie down and get comfy and I will guide us through a 60 min Conscious Connected Breathwork journey, set to carefully selected music.
- Then it’s time for integration and heart-centred sharing
- We will close with a short fire ceremony in which we can intentionally let go of whatever we no longer need.
These sessions are a beautiful way to come together and experience the power of group healing where we all learn and grow from each others experiences. They offer the opportunity to delve deeper into our own inner worlds with the support and connection of others.

The Celtic calendar/Wheel of the Year has eight festivals throughout the year with the solstices, equinoxes and cross-quarters. It is my intention to hold a ceremonial breath journey for each festival, offering you the opportunity to connect to and honour both the wider and your own personal seasonal shifts throughout the year. Connecting to the wheel of the year can be a helpful way of making meaning; noticing, anchoring and grounding through the cycles and seasons of our wider body of nature and our interconnectedness.

These are small group gatherings of up to 8-10 people, to keep it safe and intimate and no previous experience necessary.
What might I feel during a session?
Anything is possible, often people feel a high vibration of energy pulsating through their body, sometimes tingling in the hands, sometimes experience of bliss as different chemicals are released in the body. Others feel a deep relaxation they have never felt before, altered stated of consciousness or a deep sense of intuition flowing through, and others feel powerful energies and emotions moving through them. For each person the session is different and what is needed for their own specific energy system. Everything is possible, knowing that it is all perfectly safe.
Each breathing session is unique so it’s best to come with an open mind and not to have expectation. It is said that even if nothing happens, breathing this way for a length of time is enough to transform your health into more vitality.

PLEASE NOTE If you have any of the conditions listed below, conscious connected breathwork is not suitable for you. If you would still like to join please let me know, you are welcome and i will offer you an alternative breath to use:
- Epilepsy or a history of seizures of any kind
- Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or any history of pyschosis
- Uncontrolled thyroid conditions
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- High blood pressure (not controlled by medication)
- Glaucoma (untreated)
- Detached retina (untreated)
- History of heart disease or stroke
- Aneurysm of any kind
- First term of pregnancy
