PsySoc Social Bristol

An evening of real talk, new friends & wild tales

Tired of small talk? So are we.
Come drop the mask and dive into something a little more real.

Join us for a night of Psychedelic Speed-Friending, where curiosity, courage and connection take centre stage. We’ll gently guide you through playful ice-breakers and juicy conversation prompts designed to help you meet new people in meaningful ways. Think slow, soul-nourishing conversations rather than frantic networking. Expect short but impactful heart-to-hearts in pairs and trios. Plus plenty of time to flow freely with whoever you vibe with most.

Once the room’s warmed up and hearts are open, we shift into Psychedelic Storytelling, our beloved open mic session where you get the chance to take the stage. Share your story, whether it’s strange, tender, funny, or downright mystical. There’s no need to be polished or profound, just honest. Stories are 5 minutes max, and you can sign up on the night.

A Beautiful Psychedelic Community: Get access to our wonderful community coalescing around all things fungi. Many people at our socials have become life-long friends. Most of our members come alone, this is a safe and welcoming space for everyone, no matter your age, sexuality, background, gender, ethnicity or nationality. Fungi  know no boundaries, which is the ethos we bring to our socials.

OUR TEAM

Matt Williams

Matt is a community builder, content creator and event facilitator whose work revolves around connection, creativity and collective experience. With a deep love for music and its power to bring people together, he sees community as the central axis of his life and work.

Over the past decade, Matt has curated over 40 music events, supported ethical brands with storytelling and social media, and helped regenerative farms facilitate sharing circles.

Whether hosting a dance floor, crafting a piece of content or sitting quietly in a sauna or wild camping under the stars, Matt is drawn to spaces that invite presence, transformation and belonging. He is based between Bristol and the outdoors, and continues to explore the intersection of purpose, creativity and community.

Martha Allitt

Martha is a freelance writer and journalist specialising in psychedelics, ketamine, and mental health. She has a degree in neuroscience and frequently writes about alternative treatments, bridging modern research with spiritual and traditional beliefs around healing. Martha is also co-owner of the UK Psychedelic Society, curating and facilitating events in Bristol, and volunteers with the psychedelics welfare organisation PsyCare. She is currently making a documentary about Datura, a psychedelic plant known for its bizarre experiences, and the relatively untapped history of its use across various traditions.

Outside her psychedelic work, Martha enjoys yoga, playing music, and doodling.
