Welcome to the Men's Temple - Stepping inside Stillness
When we created the first Men's Temple in May, we knew we were doing something new, even "countercultural", as one participant described it. We wanted to create a liberating space for enquiry around our relationship to all men. All intimacy between men has been heavily shaped and distorted by taboo, be it s*xual, platonic, sensual, brotherly. What unfolded was a deep descent into stillness and raw feeling. The men in the room reminded us of the heart of what we wish to create in Temple.
Have you ever noticed the way moments hold a rhythm?
Or felt the volume of space between the walls, and the shapes that words create when they expand into it?
Or witnessed what you take each time you breathe in, and what you return to as you breathe out? Is it different?
Did you appreciate the density of the air?
This Temple will further explore the theme of stillness - physical stillness, inner stillness, stillness into movement, finding motion, and returning to stillness again. From stillness, we can feel the direction of our truth.
In the first half, we will explore through embodied inquiry, collaborating through connection, feeling into the silence, communicating, consciously connecting to what we feel and discover in those moments.
What can we find?
What can we really feel?
What can we bring back?
What can we learn from ourselves and one another?
The second half will be Temple time, a free flowing space for insight and inquiry into this theme through the threshold of men meeting in many ways, within the comfort of what feels right for you in the room, at the time, on the day. Everything will be an invitation to see inside, and share what we wish to, together in connection, care and community.
This journey will be offered in consensual connection with self and each other. We will explore embodied meetings, integrating sharing spaces, enquiry questions, and shared group learnings.

Conor:
Conor is a student of Temple culture, and a close ally of Shanti and Hugs in our shared mission to strengthen and deepen our community. Creating this temple has been a dream of his for over a year, after he experienced a powerful process of healing in his connection to other men whilst on a sacred sexuality retreat. Conor holds space with deep reverence and radical irreverence, believing that we have to laugh at our attachments to find the reality of our experience.
