Mags and I started Connection Jam to work against the loneliness and isolation many of us feel in our lives. Our monthly social helps create new relationships, and we love hearing how people are meeting up around the event! 

I know that I can still feel lonely, even when I've spent time with others. It's a frustrating and confusing feeling! A deep value I have is for quality and depth in my relationships. We do this at Connection Jam through activities and exercises designed for it - but how can you continue that vibe outside of our held space?

Authentic Relating is a communication and relational practice that can help support better relationships.

When I trained in AR, it highlighted how I was hiding from myself and others. I was often in my head: listening to stories of how I should be, and acting out a part. Performing roles that I imagined were expected of me, instead of feeling into what I truly needed and wanted. This was a painful realisation, but an essential one for personal growth. Ultimately, it’s led me to a greater sense of wholeness - which feels powerful. In a more everyday way, I now have more meaningful conversations and flourishing relationships!

I am leading An Introduction to Authentic Relating workshop on Sunday 2 June. Alongside Mags, I'll share the principles of the practice and give you plenty of time to take part in practical exercises. It's an opportunity to explore and understand your own patterns of relating in a safe container with a group of like-minded people. This is the second outing for this workshop, which I have tweaked since the popular and well-reviewed first one!
