Who is it suitable for?

This is rather like forest school training but more advanced in the knowledge you get . This is a course on HOW and WHAT TO TEACH CHILDREN Bushcraft skills .

Anyone who is teaching already within the education system or someone who wants to start their own private school/after school club/survival club.

Anyone who is teaching kids or adults/students from the ages of 6 and upwards .. Nature connection skills and bushcraft can be used by therapists of all kinds and be great for people from all walks of life.

This course can be for people wanting to learn the basics / intermediate arts and crafts of bushcraft, the ancient hunter gatherer knowledge and tribal principals, whether your a parent with a child , wanting to learn more about mentoring them or a play worker who needs to advance in their skills to keep your kids enthralled, excited and hungering for more of your camps, this training is for you !

 

Schedule :

28 AND 29 TH JUNE 

* Nuts , seeds, berries, roots - 2 wild food walks to learn how to teach , process and cook in this abundant time of the year . How to identify wild food from the poisonous ones!

*shelter building ~ games and how to teach 3 types of shelter. Shelter building games 

*Traps and throwing sticks . Whittle 2  traps and make a throwing stick with a knife or axe - throwing stick games . 

*Make an arrowhead from slate and then glass . 

*Make cordage from barks, roots and plants, and the use and making of knots  .

​* Regression to childhood games - the art of wonder , awe and reverence .

Primitive cooking methods and recipes

Wild food propagation conservation and ecology - how to set up the land your teaching from to build nature connection.

Teaching your students about self sufficiency , the use of wild food gardens and the spreading of seeds going back to the first humans on this planet.

Stalking methods -  5 ways of stalking, the art of invisibility and movement to be in harmony with nature

* The art of storytelling and why its so important. There will be stories printed out , for all the subjects taught on this weekend , so you have them to learn and memorise for your sessions.

 

What you will get with each weekend training:

* You will have the chance to come and volunteer at 2 of my survival club days or on one family camp , to get more experience and depth in your mentorship programme , or have a one on one private session with me by zoom.

* 5 printouts of one day bushcraft events you can follow with storytelling and full guidance of how to run the classes.

*Ongoing mentoring if you need tips and advice

* List of the best bushcraft items for kids groups to buy and where to buy them .

* List of books and videos

​* A bunch of wild food recipes for primitive cooking ​

 

There are 3 camps this year - 2 others ..24 and 25th May
28 and 29 th June
27 and 28 th September ..every camp with differnet topics taught .
