A playful, fun-filled workshop on the basics of clogging and folksinging, with Sophie Slattery and Ric Hollingbery (The Swanning Folk & Brown Bread Choir).

Clogging is an ancient tradition stretching back nearly 600 years in England and Wales. Welcome in the new age of the Clog!

Sophie dances with the Swanning Folk, a progressive band of Bristol-based clog dancers who are specialists in traditional step dances of the British Isles.  Sophie will lead you through gentle physical warm-ups, and exercises in basic rhythm and footwork that you'll need to dance some simple English and Welsh dances. Clogs will be provided.

Ric is a folksinger, choir leader and violinist and will  lead you through the vocal part of the day. Expect playful vocal warm ups, fun resonance exercises to brush off the cobwebs, then we'll learn some gorgeous old folksongs that celebrate the most heavenly time of the year, Spring.

Thank you to the Jam Jar for supporting this event.
